Started messing around with an idea of an intake. Had to take a picture with the whole tube because it was hilarious looking haha! Still a lot more trimming to do but you get the gist of it. Keep in mind this is still my old crappy headlight, I'm still working up the courage to cut my new crispy headlight up!

*LOAD UP THE PARTS CANNON - FIREEEE*

Picking the new street tire setup this weekend. Slipstreams on deck! Also, the front half of my roll cage is scheduled for delivery today! I went with Kens Custom Chassis out of PA. He is the only one I found that does one tube from main hoop, across the roof, down through the dash to the floor. With one tube connecting them at the windshield. Everywhere else does a "halo bar" with two tubes welded to that at the windshield. If this is confusing this is what I mean. But first -

Already sold my old and faithful 10 second 18's. So much for my goal of 18" 9 sec pass, at this point I just want my 9 sec pass.

This is what I am talking about for the cage conversion-
Not this

Nope I still have them. This is a different set of 15" slipstreams with the M&H Racemaster tire for the street. Order it up man! Racing season is almost here!

I actually just messaged kens on their 10 pt LOL I want something thatll still fit well with the interior in the car.

Started on the interior, this was actually easier than I thought removing the dash. Never in 10 years have I removed it. There will be a lot of "while I'm in there" to be done behind the dash! Also, scored a sweet new helmet and found myself a new trailer!!

NEW TRAILER! Took off work tomorrow to cruise out to PA to pick it up, screaming deal - thats why I am driving 3 hours to go get it. With a coat of new paint, some new fancy LED lights this will be looking brand new before the racing season starts.

Finally bought myself a new helmet. I was at @goonie90gsx house over the weekend and he has this same helmet so I had to get myself one!

Also- still haven't had time to go pick up my new wheels yet, the plan is to swing out tonight after work. My buddy got them off his 1g! CANT WAIT! This is actually my same friend from earlier in this build journal that I got my carbon hatch, hood, DSS driveshaft, bullfab crossmember, and now wheels haha.

On to the DASH! (don't forget about the bolts under the tweeters!)

This sucker is actually heavy! Time for a diet under the dash

Started to attempt to test fit the front bars last night but they will need cut before installation. I called it a night early last night. Will continue within the next few nights!

I'm curious about the goals with this build. It started off as a street/show car and it seemed like it was staying in that direction. However, the end goal now seems to be a tubed/caged/slicks/parachute drag car. Could you explain where you want the car to be in the end game?

Very good question my friend. I will most definitely still street drive this car just as much as I always have. As for the goals I want my 9 second pass. After that happens I will continue to push the 7 bolt deep into the 9's. As for the cage you can never be too safe - plus my fiance has been wanting me to get the full 10 point. So I guess end game - Mid 9 second car, still can drive to the shootout and back with no issues(an hour drive), can drive to the grocery store, cruise with my friends. It will still be the same car I can take out on a daily basis and beat the ever living crap out of it on the street or track and drive back home..most of the time haha

Finally cruised over to my friends house to grab the new wheels and tires. I need to put spacers on the rear for the Hoosiers to clear and I will most likely run the spacers with the M&H just to have a meaner stance look. BUTTTT I need to get extended wheel studs first. For now I threw the M&H on without any spacers, I'm diggin the look!! Also, the trailer sold before I could go pick it up.. BUMMERRR!!! Sucks too because I took off work today to go get it! Back on the hunt for another one.

Last weekend @goonie90gsx got his car to my place and we started working on the cages! I forgot to take pictures of mine but I will soon. I managed to get the left side notched and ready to tack. As for Goonies we got the main hoop cut to length and floor cleaned up ready to weld the footers for the main hoop. This to me is the most time consuming part is measuring the main hoop and making the landings for everything.

Got the chute mount welded up and painted finally. Started working on getting my bumper back on and fixing all the broken bolts....ugh. There is light at the end of the tunnel however!

Got about an hour of work of work done last night, rear bumper is back on, chute is mounted and went on a serious diet. Going to throw the dash back in now that the front bars are about where they need to be notched at. I have to drive over to my buddies shop so he can tig them in.

Im not sure what your final decision is with your dash and Hvac stuff. But might be a good idea to at least keep that stuff there for heat purposes. If this is going to still be a street car.

Unfortunately, my blower motor died a long time ago so it will be no different just lighter haha! I don't drive it when its cold anyways
