To start off with I'm in the market for a complete clutch kit in my 2g FWD. The car will be making 500ish torque at the wheels. Mod list is not completely up to date, but will be running a PTE 5558 Gen 2 bb with all supporting mods. I've been doing a lot of research on what clutch to run, but still do not have a clear decision. This is not my daily and only comes out to play on the weekend or a few drag passes a year. I've been leaning towards the ACT xtreme 6-puck sprung kit (ACT-MB1-XTG6). I have a buddy who runs this and likes it a lot, but I do not live close enough to see how it feels. I rarely launch the car (FWD LOL) so I shouldn't have to worry about popping springs really (or do I?). Overall looking for some input before I drop a good amount on setup.

^ Yep Vegas just tagged Tim at TMZ performance cause they definitely have a clutch option that will work for you better than the 6 puck ACT. If you want to stay with a single plate I would definitely get a South Bend from him. He offers a bunch of different friction materials for different power levels.

Since its not a daily you could also consider a twin disc quartermaster that would hold all the power you could throw at it. All in what your price point is.

The South Bend Clutch SS-X pressure plate with full face ceramic disk (8 segmented pads on a full face sprung-hub disk) -- this is the B-series disk. This clutch kit is WAY MORE STREETABLE than a 6-puck and your clutch pedal assembly and hydraulics will also be much happier, along with significantly softer pedal feel than the ACT and excellent clutch modulation. It will easily handle that power as well.

If it helps any I just made 630hp @499TQ and this was on a ACT 2600 6 puck clutch and that was conservative tune.
I have twin disc clutch ready for drop in just waiting for the ACT to give LOL

I would love to run a twin disc, but that's just out of my price range and for a FWD I don't plan on running much more power then what I'm at now. Thanks for your input!

That sounds like a way better option then a 6-puck. Glad I saw/ found this before ordering the ACT kit. Thanks a bunch! :hellyeah:
