Looking good! Congrats, its always exciting when the new motor is almost ready to drop in.

My only comment would be to use a different exhaust gasket. I personally havent had much luck with those ones, always seem to start leaking within a month or two, maybe just my bad luck. I would recommend a multi-layer steel exhaust manifold gasket, but otherwise its looking great!

Nice man! I’ve been ripping on my rebuild for about six weeks now, just double check all your fittings and hose clamps, I had a couple minor leaks when I first started it up, but it was an feeling seeing the car running again. How are you gonna break her in? I used the moto man method, beat on her right outta the gate LOL obviously on low boost, but so far so good:thumb:

It's beautiful, makes you not even want to install it and get it dirty LOL.

Already broken in on the dyno LOL.. 1st my thermo housing broke in hal and then i started losing oil out of the ofh fittings so i pulled em all apart and resealed.. now im leak free and daily driving. I need a bigger turbo.. the 16g is not as fun as it used to be knowing im built for power!

Dude it’s not bad at all, I’ve been trying to spread the word on this thing, even on the stock 7:8:1 pistons it’s awesome! Granted I know I have a fresh engine, but what impressed me the most was the airflow I’ve seen at 26 psi with stock cams. This thing pulls hard, once you feel it you never want to go back to anything smaller. I hit full boost around 4600-4700 rpms, it’s seriously not bad at all

Being in an auto i worry about responsiveness. I cant rev the rpms like a manual

I can imagine it would be a little slower off the line on an auto, however I’ve heard the transient response is better between shifts, I’d consider yourself lucky being auto, it seems most guys making power want to switch to auto, but I’m not familiar with what the auto guys do to get going off the line, but all in all on my set up the red was a lot more responsive than I thought it would be, and I’m sure my stock cams are the reason

lasershark I hit full boost at 4600ish in second gear, this turbo was rebuilt by Justin, and I’m sure he made certain my wastegate actuater was preloaded as much as it could be, and I’ve been running the modded evo 8 map on e85 for the last several years, my car has always ran well on this map, I’ve heard others describe a fp red like a slug till you make a pull, not my car, my car feels like it wants to take off even when I’m not in boost, I’m not saying I wouldn’t downshift to second if I’m cruising at 40 and want to split,I just wanted to say the fp red is more responsive on the street then some might think, and for a bolt on upgrade I think it’s a awesome turbo, I can’t wait to upgrade to cams and injectors the road:hellyeah:
