Well I haven't updated my thread in a few weeks, but a lot of awesome things have been happening. First off, I contacted Kevin Jewer about doing a remote tune on the car, and that was the best decision I could've made. It runs amazingly well on e85 now, and pulls pretty dang hard.

Automotion 2017 came around, and despite the terrible weather, it was still a great time as always! Here's a few random pictures from the weekend!

I ended up winning best dsm again at this show. Only a few showed up, but still happy.

I had a friend so some pictures of the car, along with my girlfriends srt4.

A couple of weeks after Automotion, I finally hit the local drag strip. On my final pass I ended up with this time slip. So close to the goal!

I'll be shooting for that 11 second timeslip the next time I'm at the track. I need to work on my launch and I'm there!

I finally decided to get rid of the stock radiator since the upper water neck was starting to turn brown which tends to lead to it breaking. I went with an eBay no name brand aluminum radiator at the recommendation of many other dsmers. It fit great and seems to be of pretty decent quality. I painted the upper tank low gloss black to match the rest of the bay.

I plan on racing 2 more times this year, hopefully I will be able to pull off an 11 second pass!:dsm:

I have been pretty busy with work and school lately, I haven't been able to give the car much attention or update my build thread. Here's from where we left off.

I ended up only going racing 1 more time this season. The first pass I went 12.1@117, and from there, everything went down hill. I was having some sort of issue that seemed like instant clutch slip, without and burning clutch smell. It was cold and I may have glazed over the kevlar side of the disc perhaps? I'm not too sure. Either way, I didn't end up getting my 11, however, that is more motivation for solidifying the car for next year! I also have been battling a weird issue lately that is forcing me to put the car away earlier this year. Under any sort of random cruising or in town driving, I've been getting what seems like little spurts of no fuel. It feels like the engine is cutting out, without the sound of a misfire, and the wideband goes super lean during these little spurts. I also have been battling an issue of cutting out under WOT unless the plugs are gapped down near .020. I'll be addressing these issues and more.

So the winter plans! First off, I have been slowly collecting parts to do a black/gray interior swap from a 99 model year car. I'll be doing new carpet, new oem floor mats, and last but certainly not least, a pair of Sparco R333 seats up front. I have wanted some nice feeling seats for a long time now, and I finally pulled the trigger on a set. These will really add to the driving feel of the car since I won't be sliding all over the stock leather seats anymore. I"ll also be doing a few other things inside the car to update the interior and give it an overall better feel while behind the wheel.

I also plan on installing a flex fuel sensor to allow me to easily run pump gas if desired, as well as compensate for varying ethanol contents at the pump. Some higher flowing fuel injectors will also be installed since I am running very high IDC's with my current setup. Some maintenance as always will come, and many other small projects to fix a lot of the little issues/small things that bother me with the car. 2018 will be a very exciting and refreshing year for this car and I cannot wait to get started on it all! Stay tuned!:hellyeah::dsm:

Ugh you make me ant to buy those R333 seats, they look so dang good! Did you buy the adjustable sliders? How do you plan to mount them?

I haven’t purchased the mounting parts yet, however I will be buying the sparco sliders and probably Planted seat brackets.

Well I am finally done with school so I've had much more time to work on my car. I have the interior swap nearly complete. I ordered a replacement black carpet set from stockinteriors.com. The rest of the parts for the '99 black interior swap I found from a guy on craigslist this past summer and the local junkyard. I'm only waiting on a few parts for the interior such as a new shift boot, seat sliders, and mounting brackets. Here is the current state of the interior as it sits right now. One of my favorite things that I got for the interior were the black oem floor mats that extremepsi has on their website. They really add a nice touch to the interior, and match the carpet perfectly as well.

I also finally did the fuel pump rewire mod. I had been putting it off and this was the perfect time for it. I am still chasing an issue that I was having right before the car went into storage where it would cut out severely and even die while driving. A new fuel filter will be going in, along with inspecting the ignition system for any worn/broken pieces.

More to come!

Well, I installed my seats yesterday with the sparco sliders and planted brackets, and they sit way too high. My head just about touches the headliner. It appears that wedge engineering’s brackets sit a bit lower than planted’s brackets so I may give them a try. However, the way it sits right now, it will not work. I also purchased a set of fic 1250cc injectors that I am going to get cleaned and flow tested. Those should give me some room as I was nearing 100% idc in the colder weather.

I run the wedge engineering brackets with the Evo 9 Recaros, brackets are nice but are also taller than the oem mounting location. I haven't put a helmet on yet but will have to tilt it back a little to fit comfortably, I'm 6ft for comparison.

I finally was able to get the seats to fit in the car nicely. I ended up buying a set of wedge brackets and removing the “E” shaped riser from them, which allowed for proper head clearance. Now that the seats are in, the interior swap is pretty much done!

I am overall very very happy with the decision to do the interior swap, I was really starting to hate the tan.

I also wanted to change up the tone, and the look of the rear end. While I did lile the Thermal R&D catback, I thought it was pretty quiet and just not for me anymore. I picked up a lightly used Apexi N1 catback. I have it installed now and I like the sound and look a lot more.
