So this is my first time working with engine components, I just have a few questions and if someone can point me in the right direction for a step by step guide or something of the sorts.

First off is everything pretty much bolt off or is their some stuff that's more into it then that.

Second where do I even start or does it even matter just exhaust/intake/fuel/belt & ect

Third is what would I need when replacing the head just a gasket set or would their be other stuff I need to buy

Save this web page its very useful!!! :hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah:
Just went through the vfaq page but didn't see anything about removing the head I found a couple of thread but they help but not as much as I need help with I guess LOL. I might try the service manual way

Buy a factory service manual for an eagle talon. They should be on eBay for $20 or less and they are worth their weight in gold.

Again the most complicated process you will have to perform on any vehicle; is setting the tension to the factory tensioner arm and pulley

So follow the guidelines to change the timing belt

After removing the timing belt un bolt the turbo from the exhaust manifold.

Unbolt the intercooler pipe from the throttle body, remove tb, remove the vacuum hoses. Disconnect the injectors, coil, ac compressor plug, and move that harness over to the battery area (battery should be removed already)

After you remove the wiring and all vacuum hoses there are 2 bolts under the intake manifold holding it to a bracket which bolts to the block. You will need to get under the car to in bolt these.

Un bolt the thermostat housing from the head, it's 3 bolts to the head

You can remove the head with the intake and exhaust manifold still connected, the cam and cam gears still intalled

Remove the valve cover, remove the 8 head bolts

Wiggle it front to back when you try to lift it.
