I was actually searching for this last night, from my research rosd racing is best suited for the wavetrac, quaife for drag, and a 1 way spyder gesr for autoX.

@Black95TSIawd was talking to me today about it all, he is doing his and autoX so let him explain better then i can LOL

What about the Kaaz unit? I've heard it's good for street and autox. The Quaife is good for drag but engages too rough for anything else really

can someone please post links to the best prices that websites are can someone please post links to the best prices that websites are offering each of these for sale?

If you care at all for street manners, get the quaife or wavetrac. They are quiet and low to zero maintenance. The wavetrac won't go open diff on you if you ever lift a front wheel, but that shouldn't happen during drag or street driving. I'd get whichever is cheaper between the two.

Clutch-type diffs are noisy and require tuning. Something the average person won't be doing.

Contact @twicks69. He can get everything you need.

Thats actually not true. Quaife is not a good drag diff. Its really hard on axles when you slightly reduce a load off it. I prefer a welded stock diff over a Quaife any day.

Currently I am running a Wavetrac with the bigger 2g fwd axles in my drag car. I love it so far. Not 100% grab like the welded diff I was running for a few years, but it sure does drive nice at the top of the track.

I agree with 1qkfwd about the inaccuracy of the Kaaz and Quaife comparison.

It should be stated as follows:

What about the Quaife unit? I've heard it's good for street and autox. The Kaaz is good for drag but engages too rough for anything else really

Kaaz or any clutch-type diff can be tuned. For this exact reason, and others not pertaining to street/drag, I got a cusco 1-way front diff. Unless you plan on going through the tuning process, I'd get a helical/torsen. I personally don't mind tuning the diff and don't want any of the lift throttle understeer. (or noise/clanking that comes along with it)

LSD's are hard on axles? Who would have thought that? :ohdamn: Gotta pay to play.

Are you using the 2g shifter assembly as well? I'm currently trying to fit a 2g gearbox into my 1g chassis. I was hung up on the axle / LSD / shifter assembly parts to use. I've got the trans (98 Eclipse GST Spyder donor car), and am wondering if I can use the 2g's trans and axles as is (which would obviously allow me to use an off the shelf quaife / wavetrac lsd for the 2g).

No I’m using 1g box and cables. The trans is 1g also. Just a 2g diff.
