Hi,
I’m looking for some opinions (and pictures). I’m going to 225 size tires and wonder about your thoughts on 7.5 inch or 8 inch wheels with them. 7.5 is closer to a stock look I think. While an 8 inch is just a bit smaller than the tread width. What I don’t want is to end up with a rolled look or whatever it’s called when the wheels look too big for the tires . Thanks for your thoughts and pictures.

Personally, I would go with the 8" between the two options. If you think about factory evo8/9 wheels they are 8" and run 235 and 225 is not much smaller so it won't give you the "stretched" look of the stance nation guys, but it will give you a little grow room if you ever need more traction up to 245's.

I juuust put on 225/45/18 on a 18x8. They are 1.2" bigger in dia than oem. They do fit BUT I have a decent offset on my rims to clear my brembos. I actually removed the giant spacer i use for my summer shoes.

I hear ya on the "rolled" side wall look and i was super worried about that b/c then the rim get curb rash easier. IMO these look meaner than my 235/40's. That extra dia reeeeeallly fills out the wheel well and makes the tires side wall longer and straighter looking.

Only pic i have on my phone:
