I would do some research before committing to a 25mm rear bar. Beau replicated one and immediately took it off after his first road race session due to uncontrollable over-steer. (His car is built well and this isn't his first rodeo.) BUT, I personally think the RM rear bar is too soft. Something slightly stronger would hit the sweet spot.

If you're doing this on a street only car that runs soft lowering springs, maybe the 25mm bar would be nice, coupled with an upgraded front bar. Otherwise, I'd stay away.

If the RM 21mm rear sway bar is too soft and the RRE 25 rear sway bar is too stiff, maybe we can make a 23mm rear sway bar.

For the ST both front and rear are 3/4" = 19mm...

I have RM bars on my AWD Spyder (as in, as heavy as DSM can be!) and I can't imagine getting anything heavier. Car is already very tail end happy! Especially with -3.5* of camber up front.

The "man bar" looks ridiculously stiff! No wonder he called his car "oversteer monster" in YouTube comments! That bar would be only appropriate if you are making a drift car...

Sway bars tuning is a science! There is definitely such thing as "too much"! Throwing big bars at your car is not a good idea! Some suspension tuners, despise them altogether!

BTW, years ago, when I was looking for a custom sway bar for my Summit Van, I spoke with company Robi Spec, in LA area. They made custom bars for EVOs, but I am not sure if they any longer around.

As with anything in life it's all a balance.

As @Black95TSIawd said a stiff Rear bar with a softer springs could work.

As for myself, my goal is to build a street car capable of putting down good times at the track, and I'm not talking about drag racing.

Robispec was huge in the Evo community at doing suspension tuning... From custom coilovers built to their specs to alignments.... They also modified GSX's subframes for better suspension geometry.

Don't know. My Evo was stolen 7 years ago. I just pop into evom from time to time looking for various parts we can use.

Back to rear sway bar talk...
My Evo handled like a dream...
Specs: Megan track coilovers, Hotchkis rear sway bar, 255/40/17 tires
Alignment specs: 0 toe all the way around, -2.5 camber front, -1.0 camber rear

I'll be honest the suspension on the GSX has me scratching my head so I'm using the Evo's specs/alignment as a baseline.

Alignment should not be that far apart but we both have great setups but both as bad as each other LOL, ideally i wish we had similer to the gtr, wishbone up front and small hub in back, that works alot better and i have looked into modding the rear evo setup but just have not fully assesd it all yet,

The evo and DSM shock setup is different, and there for reacts differently. For instance on the front the shocks mount inwards on the dsm so the spring rates are softer then advertised, but the rear connects to the knuckle so if you have a 10kg spring its full 10kg to the wheels, the evo is reversed, so while evos seems to have a balanced soring rate we have a very front bias rate but the backs of our cars need more as its wayy too soft back there even with 500lb+ springs LOL

Its all a fun game to learn but the way the evos motion in the rear is really nice, more control and because the shock is to the lower arm its more more precise on feedback.

My car seems to put power down just fine on course.

I run 800/550 spring rates with RM bars. I would like to go up in rear spring, but a thicker rear bar could be a better alternative without making drive-ability any worse. (my konis don't want any more spring either. LOL) However, my car is NOT street car and I run huge 285 section width tires. The smaller ST bars could very well be just fine for a street driven car. I'd even venture to say that a car on Eibach lowering springs would work well with RM bars and a car on whatever flavor coilover would work well with ST bars. If its just a street car, you'll never tap into the car's potential on public roads anyway. I promise.

To be honest... there is no one simple answer. My setup now works fine because I'm still on the T25 and need help getting the car to rotate while on throttle and pull out of corners. If my car made any amount of power, I'd probably have a different setup and would have to alter my driving style. There is no one single answer that defines a good handling car as there are too many variables that play a role. My car works great. But, it took 2 years of development of both car and driver. Most should just take the KISS approach and not over think things.

Do we have an official number of people willing to buy sets? I spoke to a place that is willing to pick up the slack to the tune of 20 sets or so. SO, I guess you can consider I have about 22 sets accounted for.

Nice! Is this place going for a simple recreate or would they be talked into going a little thicker for the rear bar?

No, this place will purchase 20 sets from the group buy that is already in works.

Or someone that knows how to make them... If we were going to just remake the RM bars, someone could volunteer their car or RM sway bar for measuring.
