Hi!
I have a EU spec 2G with N/A 4g63 wich is mostly stock apart from the exhaust system. I'm planning on a fuel system upgrade with a walbro 255 pump, and 1000ccm injectors, wideband and fuel pressure regulator. I have some kinda rookie questions about this setup... Do I need dsmlink or someting to tune the ecu with, or does making an upgrade like this even make sense ? :) I mean I'm planning on a 16g turbo conversion on a long term, and I've seen this is a good support for it, but does this make any hp gain in a N/A system? If not I might be saving up, and making the modifications with the turbo.

No gains, wait till you do the turbo. Tuning is good no matter the setup, even stock. But there is absolutely no need for all that fuel without the turbo upgrade. Just my .02

From one beginner to another, I'll tell you what I've learned. For something that extensive you 100% will need ECMLink in order to tune for that turbo and whatnot, another concern is I'm not too sure if a 255 pump can properly support 1000cc injectors. Although a good stepping stone before you start -really- tinkering with your car would definitely be a wideband setup so you can get a little more info about what's going on with your car. I'd also get ECMlink before you go into all the other mods, that way you've got the means to really know what's going on when you step into 'big' modifications.

For what it's worth, I'm currently running the stock, 10:1 N/A pistons along with the T25 on stock boost (~12 psi) and it runs just like factory. If I had Link and a bit of fuel/knock tuning, it could be even better.

So if you slap on the 16G and don't go crazy on the boost right away, you should be able to run it for awhile without breaking stuff. As far as your question, those upgrades would be overkill for your stock N/A config. Better to wait it out, gather all the parts (including turbo) and then do it all at once.

Good luck!
