Hey guys! I hope you could help me out. My car from time to time changes the way it rides. Sometimes its fast sometimes its feels slow like it isnt turbocharged. It feels like im going fast but it doesnt throw me off my seat. Ive done these things to keep in check so you would know what ive done.
Mods list are in my profile.

Fuel pressure correctly set
Boost is at 15psi
No boost leaks
Changed and gapped my plugs
No exhaust leaks
Checked my grounds
Checked my wires
Checked coilpack
Checked power tr unit
Checked for shaft play there was none

Ever since i changed into a 16g it really never pulled as hard as the stock t25. When my 16g pulls hard i could still compare my t25 to pull harder. My 16g doesnt even let me spin my wheels like my old t25.

I also get this metal rattle sound at around 2500-4000 rpm when i go wot and put load on the engine. It kinda sounds like "racketing metal"

Could this be an issue because its not yet tuned? That im running stock tune and stock box? Cant the stock tune compensate for the low 15psi of boost the 16g gives?

im sorry for the long thread i hope you could throw in some ideas. Thanks alot! And if you were wondering i did lots of research trying to fix this but always ended up not being able to fix the issue

Below is a picture of my engine bay and a pic of me together with my friend who owns a mitsubishi montero

Well first thing j see is your still on the stock maf yet your venting your bov! Thats a hell no and you should fix thisnfirst and then recheck again, it could be your only issue,

Have you confirmed boost is not dropping off? And any visual damage in the housing of the turbo?

Perhaps capturing a log would be helpful since you are using ECUFlash, you should have a cable to log using EvoScan.

Knock, FAR, and Timing when this situation occurs would be helpful.

Yes i know i should recirculate it. The adapter is on its way. But regardless of that it still doesnt throw me off my seat like with my stock t25 vented

The ting is i dont have a logger yet. I have neither an eeprom ecu nir a reflashable one. I will be getting an AEM f/ic in 2 weeks (only reason why im going with that is i got it for almost free) ill post logs as soon as i can. Till then anymore suggestions?

Check for shaft play.

Well my bet is you have all these uogrades with no way of tuning for it! How is it ment to know whats in it with no ecu to make adjustments to? It wont so the t25 worked with the ecu! As soon as you out 560cc injectors and a 16g on and go to 15psi it dont know what its doing so thats pretty much your issue right there!

You have to be able to tune for the parts going on or it wont work! You cannot make a ham sandwich without bread but still call it a sandwich! Lol

Ah, that was wish list. I wouldn't be pushing a 16g to 15lbs. on stock fuel system. Inspect the compressor wheel as @ec17pse suggested. I would not go WOT until you have a tuning solution to accommodate the added airflow and would advice larger fuel injectors. Among your method to tune/log, and wideband is suggested. The stock tune could run a t-25 at 15 psi, but a 16g is another story. Airflow is what needs to be considered. A 16g at 15 psi. will make more power than a t-25 at 15 psi. Due to the increased airflow.

What is the white substance at the exhaust manifold flange? Also the greyish goop between the O2 sensor housing and hotside?

If you used some liquid type sealant w/out a gasket or with the old one, it would explain the ‘spray’ like pattern of white stuff I see in the picture. If this is the case then remove it, clean the flange surfaces and install a new gasket.

The one bet the hotside and o2 housing is a paper gasket.
The one on the manifold and turbo is sealant

Check for shaft play.
Already did

Okay i will update you guys once i get my AEM F/IC ;)

Other than knock what could cause these problems? so i have other things to check while i wait for my AEM F/IC

They meant to check for shaft play on your CARROFL. The metal sound your hearing could be knock or in this case outright detonation, I woldnt boost the car anymore at all until you can at least log it, is your 16g Ebay China junk or is it a real MHI unit?

Oh!! Shaft play from? Crankshaft? And yea my 16g is a real MHI unit

Shaft play from the turbo. Pull the intake off it. Shaft play is when the shaft on the turbo has play. U can usually move the compressor side to side and in and out.

Also, did u check for exhaust leaks on the turbo? I don't think paper gaskets and sealants are good on the turbo for sealing.

No shaft play on my turbo, hooray! These actually hold up really well i do exhaust leak checks from time to time :)
By putting a shop vac on my exhaust tip and spraying soapy water. Though here in the philippines its really hard to find oem turbo gaskets or aftermarket ones. So ill have one custom made. Is aluminum a good material?

Aluminum is a good material but you need to make sure the surfaces are very flat and still probably use some RTV seal to help.

Update so i got a new set of wires with magnetic core at 9mm and they cured my problem. I guess i needed to change out my ngk blues :) i also got a new gasket and fixed all exhasut leaks now she runs great! Still looking forward to getting my 750 cc injectors soon so i can tune my engine
