Hello all,

I am currently converting my entire interior to black from the tan/black interior that was in horrible shape in my 97 GST.

The LKQ junkyard just had a 40% off sale and I found a bunch of usefull parts for the conversion. For $170 I picked up OEM black door panels, 3G black cloth rear seats mint, 4G cloth front seats in mint condition, and a 3G steering wheel.

3G Eclipses are all over junkyards and their rear seats are direct bolt ons. The 4G front seats need custom fab work to make them fit but look awesome in my opinion. I was lucky to find a close enough match on the front and rears. Also the 3G steering wheel looks wayy sleeker than the stock 2G massive wheel and bolts right in. I will post pics once its all installed.

I have modified the OEM 4G brackets to fit the drivers side seat in perfect with the original 2G mounting points. The passenger side however is not even close and I am brainstorming how I am going to make this work.

I saw in a previous thread someone did this swap successfully in 2008 and it looked great, but there are not too many details on how it was done. Has anyone else installed both 4G seats in their 2G successfully?

Here is a pic of the drivers side bolted in and all the parts I found =

Your picture makes the driver's seat look likes it's bolted in crooked? The seats look nice though.

Thanks, that is just the angle of the picture, I will take a better picture tomorrow, it looks straight in life. Took me about 4 hours to get it to bolt up securely. I am happy with how it looks, I took the rails off the stock seat and the bottom half of the 4G rails, might have an idea to make it work with some minor welding

Start with blanks and fab up your own may be the best bet. I wouldn't cookie cut seat installation.

Agreed, I wouldn't "half-ass" (for lack of better term) seat install. Not saying that you are, but like the seat belts, it's there to keep you secured during a collision. I'm sure you wouldn't need you or a passenger to be hurt (or worse) from a simple oversight of seat mounting.
