No 1g's at my local junkyards currently. Anyone know where I can get a new pigtail?

I'm running 2 slim fans on my driver side connector and have been for almost 3 years. Not sure why it melted. Any ideas? Can I cut the passenger side connector and move it to the drivers side?

Thanks!

Do you know the current draw on those fans? It could be simply a case of too much current getting the connector hot. A bad joint can increase resistance and heat up the wiring too, how did you wire those new fans in to the connector?

Alternately, if you have heat management issues like removed heat shields, that can be a problem too.

I ended up just using some spade connectors for now. I'll double check my other wiring and see if there's any issues.

I had the same issue, running dual slim fan, melted the factory connector. Upgraded to heavier gauge wires, same thing happened at the connection, added a relay, again the spades terminal melted on the relay. End up installing 2 relay (1 for each fan) no melting since.

might as well throw on dual relays and upgraded wiring. Not too hard and not too expensive. Im going to make a tech article on how to get your 1g ecmlink to control your fans with relays etc pretty soon.

That would be awesome, I need that! I'm terrible at wiring and figuring out electrical stuff.
