Back in 2012 I bought into this group buy:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/2g-koni-based-coilover-group-buy-dennis-grant-specs.444944/

Well I finally got the car going last month and really can't decide if I actually need this premium setup for just a daily driver or if I should just resell it.

I may do some autox in the future but for now I'm simply just another car on the road...

Do you guys think this setup is worth it for me or should I just replace the shocks and call it good.

Thanks
Nathan

I have that same kit on my autocross talon and although I love driving my car, I would never daily it.

Sell it and throw on some lowering springs and tokico shocks. You'll be happier.

I have the DG Koni setup & daily drive. If money is not an issue you can't beat the ride quality. Only thing with the DG setup is I would not use the thrust bearing for the spring perches on a DD.

Are you asking why leave out the thrust bearings? If so, it's because they will rust in no time, bind, & stop rotating. I spent a little time looking for stainless thrust bearings but was have troubles find some large enough to fit over the outside of the shock body/spring perches.

Yeah about the thrust bearings.

Hmm, that's a damn shame because I liked that part along with the spherical bearing idea, no resistance to travel etc.

Well Florida would destroy them then, so that is a good point you made. Thanks for mentioning!

You really won't notice the lack of the thrust bearing on a DD. You wouldn't be loading the suspension enough to tell.

I am looking for something similar on the cheap i would like to be able to adjust my ride height due to the roads where i live and lower it when i go to the drag stick(not very often)
As of right now the car has lowing springs and i scrape just going into my driveway ever so slightly but i do scrape

any suggestion is greatly appreciated

Choosing spring rates will have a large influence on how the ride feels, especially the rears. Higher rear spring rates will help with cornering but the back end will get really harsh, jarring harsh on bumps. I'm runnning 800# front/ 350# rear. Front is really smooth but I think my koni rears could use more rebound damping with the 350# spring. The back like to kick high especially when both tires hit raod irregularities at the same time.

Is he still in business? I sent him an email about full kit and never heard back.

You can also try calling if he isn't able to reply to your email.
