There is a small chip right at the edge of the valve relief on this Wiseco Piston. No damage has been done to the bore and the rest of the block seems to check out, just the chip and slight oxidation on the bores.

Would it survive running as is for a couple thousand miles while I build my other block?

If I were to pull just the tip of the piston out of the bore so I could smooth it out help with the chip? I'd plastic wrap the surrounding area so no shavings would enter the bore.

I don't plan on beating it to death, I just want to be able to drive the car while I build my block!

Thank you

Depends if there is other cracks along with the missing pieces. If that was the only thing that happened, Id still run it, but be gentle with it. Do weekly compression checks etc.
Now if you want to push power through it...I would recommend replacing.
