Just pulled the motor for tranny swap

The main problem I have is a sudden spike in oil pressure normally before the problem started I had 15 to 20 psi idle warm and it did hit 90 to a 100 at 7500 rpm

Now I have 30 to 40 psi idle warm and 110 to 120 under normal driving conditions like its 100 psi by 3000 rpms

I wanted your guys opition before I started in on taking the oil pump housing off to see if it was something in there doing in like a stuck plunger or something

The balance shaft is deleted the oil pump has 3000 to 3500 miles on it it has not had and port work done on it

If you can give me any ideas or stuff to watch out for on the problem before I open it up that would be great

Thanks guys
MJP

I just pulled off the oil filter housing and it seams like the relief valve moves freely doesn't seam to be Jammed at all

One other thing I just noticed is this gasket is torn a bit and can flap against the hole going to the pan from the relief valve I added a pic

Do you think that can be causing a problem with the pressure or do you think I need to go ahead and remove the front cover and inspect everything

There is nothing under the pump cover to inspect or fix that would cause high oil pressure, at this point I dont know that I would even worry about it, the most I would do is maybe throw a Kiggly racing hla unit into the head to protect the lifters from pump up and go on my merry way.

That's what I was thinking also.
Dose my JB turbo need protected then with a oil restricter I am feeding that off of the OFH

Wouldnt hurt to restrict it to whatever the manufacure recommends, or grab a Forced Performance filter with built in restrictor.

My 6 bolt build also has those exact massive oil pressure numbers you listed. I ported the ofh a little and it shifted down a lil bit, but I'm really not interested in porting more considering that my holset with a restrictor is happy. The thing we need to be watchful of is oil temps (get a cooler) and oil volume/pressure in the head ( get the kiggly hla).

I plan on porting the housing a bit and definitely getting the kiggly restrictor and will check into a oil cooler later
