So my remote for my alarm broke a while ago and never really worried about replacing it since its a older unit. But now I wished I had. Battery died went and got a new one and as soon as I hooked it up the alarm started going off like it should. Since I dont have a remote to it I cut the 2 wires right at the siren. Got in the car and noticed that my gauges were either not working or reading wrong, my radiator fans did not come either. I thought that the 2 wires I cut were just the negative and positive wires but I guess I'm wrong. Does anyone have any solution or a reason why this happened. Its a aftermarket alarm that was on the 1g when I bought it. Thanks in advance

Dive under the dash and pull all this crap out of the car. I have pulled a dozen out of customers cars that got towed in for no start or battery draine. One Silverado would not shut off, that was a weird one.

Make sure to solder cut wires back where they suppose to be.

i have same problem, took out 4 wire harnesses that werent connected, now turn signals, dash lights, tach, speedo not working.

I did just that, 4 sets of wires, not even sure if was alarm. Turn signal are both on solid but no dash lights. This is what I removed.

Add a ground back to the system and see if your stuff starts working again. It's possible the ground you cut also grounded the other devices. Very simple and easy test instead of running down a million wires. It will allow you to at least say, Well it wasn't that.

Update, just got flasher in mail.turn signals n 4 ways are working on outside of car. Dash brake light is flashing. Progress anyway.

I've had car 3 yrs now but never had on road so I don't know if any of that stuffed worked before, now I don't think link is reading aem wideband. Hears was common problem with earlier widebands. I have 30-5130. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
