A few months back i heard about ECUFlash and you could use it along with EvoScan to tune and log with help from the Tactrix cable/flash plug. I have recently downloaded ECUFlash, paid the 25.00 bucks for EvoScan got the 2.0 cable and flash plug, Donated 5 bucks to ceddy and got Rom 20550011.

Now a few things I'm still not clear on. I've been watching videos and reading threads like crazy but still cant find much on it. When ceddymod is downloaded is there anything else that needs "patched" into ROM before you can use it? I keep seeing videos about the 1byte load. From my understanding it started with 1byte, then went to 2byte and now its to 1byte load, correct?

Now the videos I've seen I see people copying and pasting code into their ROM to go from 1byte to 2byte and then changing an equation in EvoScan I believe or maybe ceddy ROM to something like 1.2*255? Is this something that still needs to be done or has this been updated in newer versions?

Another thing, the MUT table, will the hex values need to change to accommodate the change in code. If it does need done, where would I find those hex values? I find a ton for Evo ROMs. By adding the code it lets you pass the 160 load limit? Is this just for ECU limit or is this the reason my fuel maps and timing maps top out at 160? Or would just getting the big maps take care of that issue?
Thanks in advanced as any info here will help

The big maps will increase that limit with no other modifications. You can manually change the last couple of columns on the fuel and timing maps I personally decided to pay for the big maps.
Ceddy mods has 1 and 2 byte load available you just need to check the box in evoscan.
There are a couple of very informative threads on ecuflash tuning. I still have a lot to learn but when I have questions I usually search this site using Google search. For example I search "2g load limit ecuflash dsmtuners" or something similar to that.
Good luck and have fun

Sweet thank you! so if i continue with the regular maps i just cant see as much? cant "fine tune" so to speak?

No

If you downloaded Ceddys MUT EvoScan setup you don't need to add or change anything. It's already there and you just need to select it from the list under DSM/Ceddy Mods.

You can edit the load values on the table to whatever you want. Big map just adds more resolution to those values. There is no limit established except for the Fuel Cut limit set from OEM which you have to either turn off or update the max value if you are going to pass it or you will get your engine to shut down mid a pull.

Or would just getting the big maps take care of that issue?

Big Maps only add more resolution. They do not fix anything other than provide you with more control over the fuel and timing curves at set intervals. You can do the same thing with a 12x12 table that with a 16x16 table, the only difference will be how smooth you can make the transitions. Bigger resolution is always better. Big Maps will add more resolution. There is no other difference with the big maps. I went with the Big Maps version because having that additional control is nice and makes for a more refined fuel/timing curve.

As far as i know i downloaded that. was that included in 20550011-mod-1v9Cb-MAF.hex or would i find that somewhere else? the list you speak of are you refering to this list::

bit.15, All Mods Off (For Debug Only) 0=Off, 1=Enable.
bit.14, Launch Control .
bit.13, Launch Control AntiLag (Ign Retard) .
bit.12, Launch Control AntiLag (AFR Control) .
bit.11 .
bit.10, NLTS .
bit.09 .
bit.08 .
bit.07, Map Select On/Off (For Debug Only).
bit.06, Maps Selected 0=Map Set 1, 1=Map Set 2.
bit.05, ADC 10-Bit MAP (Enable for Speed Density).
bit.04, CEL on Knock .
bit.03, Speed Density Calculations .
bit.02, Base Timing Terminal .
bit.01, 1ByteLoad <<<-----------------------------------------------------.
bit.00, AirFlow Calculations .

just turn it on and select 1ByteLoad in EvoScan and good to go?

It's included in:
CeddyMods_1v9Cb.rar
  • 20550011-mod-1v9Cb-MAF.hex = ROM file <-----This is your ROM File
  • 20550011.xml = EcuFlash .xml file <-----This is your XML File that goes in your rom data files
    • Goes in -> C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\eclipse
  • EvoScan_2.6- -> Data.xml = EvoScan .xml file for version 2.6 and below
    • Goes in -> C:\Program Files\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.6\DataSettings
  • EvoScan_2.7+ -> Mitsubishi MUTII.xml = Evoscan .xml for version 2.7 and above
    • Goes in -> C:\Program Files\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.7\DataSettings
<-----These two go into your EvoScan folders and you will select the one that states is for a DSM with Ceddy Mods when you open EvoScan

  • OpenPort_StandAloneLogging -> logcfg.txt = Config file for OpenPort StandAlone logging
    • Goes in SD Card
    • <-----This goes in the SD Card of the tactrix to datalog without a PC. Works ok'ish

The 1byte load is already turned on in Ceddy's ROM unless you tinkered with it. You just select it in EvoScan with the Ceddy MUTII option selected.

ok as for the ROM and XML i think i got all the straight, when I load 20550011.bin on ECU flash i get all the ceddy mods and maps and tables, so i think im good there as for EvoScan all i did was download it, open it and check it out. I put nothing in the evoscan files.

EvoScan_2.7+ -> Mitsubishi MUTII.xml = Evoscan .xml for version 2.7 and above
  • Goes in -> C:\Program Files\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.7\DataSettings
I went to this folder and i do not have an option for DataSettings there should be a pic you can see

i do see the EvoScan 2.7+ in the ceddymods folder

So i found the Datasettings folder and put the MutII file in EvoScan 2.9 datasettings folder, opened up evoscan and now it says this....::
You must be logged in to view this image or video.
DID Evoscan version 2.9 already have this in its floder? Should i just delete the one i put in there? or is the new one i just put in replacing one i need to delete? you can see in the other picture.....::

the one i just put in is 57KB and no other file in this folder is that size so its not an exact duplicate??

ok gotcha. so now that i have placed the one ceddy provided (Mitsubishi MUTTII .xml 57KB) into the evoscan dattasettings file i need to erase...which one:
(Mitsubishi MUTTII TCU 5KB
(Mitsubishi MUTTII EFI 51KB
(Mitsubishi MUTTII Ceedymod 24KB
(Mitsubishi MUTTII AYC Evo4-5-6 9KB
(Mitsubishi MUTTII ACD Evo7-8-9 21KB
(Mitsubishi MUTTII ABS 4KB

ok so after more searching found a few people with the same issue, although the threads end without resolution. when i add the MuttII xml file into the datasettings folder and open Evoscan 2.9 it tells me there are duplicate ecus. when i go back into the folder and delete the MUTTII xml file from Ceddy that i previously placed in there, EvoScan opens fine. With the file deleted and browsing through EvoScans drop down "Select ECU" list, i see a ceddymod listing for Evo5-6 that was placed in the datasetting folder recently (not by me physically). So can i select OP2.0 cable, Mitsubishi MUTTIII option EFI Ceddymods Evo5-6 and log with that? or is there supposed to be a specific "EFI DSM Ceddymod" option in the "Select ECU" list?

Yes their should be a selection in the ECU list for ceddymods when you put the .xml in the file. I dont delete the other ones even when I install evoscan. It just always comes up with the duplicate error message but the ceddymod .xml option is still in the list. Not sure why your having so much trouble. But there is not even that many things ceddy changed in the .xml that specific for ceddymods. Most of the things are the same as the factory MUT its just the 1 byte load, 2 byte load, and the airflow calculations that he coded that are different. If you open his .xml in notepad you can see the addresses he is logging those options from and what the data conversion equation for it is. Then in Evoscan you can add those fields manually right in the program. Definitely a round about way of doing it though. Just adding the .xml to the folder should work.

ok thanks for the info! I dont know why im having so much trouble either...... ive followed everything and as far as i can tell everything is good as for what folders go where and such. its just putting the MUTTII folder from ceddy into EVOscan is whats confusing to me and i may be over thinking alot of this but i just get the duplicate ecu error everytime i try to put that file in evoscans datasettings folder.

Then
you just need to select it from the list under DSM/Ceddy Mods.

As of now i dont have any options in the ECU list in EvoScan that states DSM, and thats with Ceddys MUTII file in evoscans datasettings folder. I can bypass the error by pressing ok 3X and evoscan opens and there is an option for "EFI EVO 5-6 Ceddymods but no DSM as AdR states there should be

Click Dsm/3000 GT

I was told as much as i want to use DSM 3000GT to NOT USE IT. I didnt see a reason or didnt get a valid reason as why not to, being its a DSM i want to log. Anyone know why i was told NOT to use DSM and to use Mitsubishi MUTTIII? Unfortunately i do not have my laptop with me today so im unable to check this untill morning, but is this really the solution? have i been misunderstanding this whole "list" thing, the "list" i was supposed to be using is the checkbox list and not the ECU drop down menu?...if thats all it is then hell yeah! as for the duplicate ECU error should i just ignore and bypass every time? or should this NOT be coming up every time i open EvoScan?

Nope didnt work!:beatentodeath::banghead: :ohdamn: when i select DSM/300GT i have no Ceddymod options at all. at least when i select Mistsubishi MUTTIII i get an option for Ceddymod EVO5-6. All i have when i select DSM/3000GT is EFI, AYC, ACD, ABS, TCU. My laptop may take flying lessons and my original tuner my be 500 dollars richer! Dam if i cant even get the logger set up then this may be out of my leauge:heystupid:

ummm ok..???? yea I need help. that's why I'm here asking questions

o back and read through ceddys thread and stop guessing. This really isnt complicated if done as posted.
Guessing?? who's guessing? I've read and read and read and can't find the answer anywhere and when I do find something the thread was ended with no resolution. Above Adr gave specific instructions step by step and where each file goes...(awesome by the way) but that's the same thing I did step by step, uninstalled and reinstalled over and over deleting everything everytime I uninstall to get the same thing. Adr steps are the same as everyones (including the one on ceedys thread).....no guessing involved in anything.....so.....Question #1 why am I getting the duplicate error message and question #2 is there supposed to be a specific DSM ceddymod option in the "ECU List". i followed all the steps and yea your right ...easy....i can click and drag files and place them in specific folders but in my case I'm getting an error when I follow these steps and no option for DSM ceddymod. Obviously I'm doing something wrong but how when I'm following everything step by step and doing it multiple times. ...without guessing?

I mean no disrespect by the comment. What I meant was that it's maybe time to get a local professional to help you with setting your system for EvoScan and ECUFlash. Sometimes it's difficult to explain things without providing visual aid and/or watching what is happening and more so with things that are PC Related. I am sure I could fix your issue if I could see it, but my directions (and others) aren't working and I feel I can't help you without risking your car and as such will refrain from trying to assist.

no disrespect taken. you've been very helpful. no local help available that for sure.....ALL dsms around here all run link and tuners have no idea what I'm talking about when I say ecuflash. it's a one way road around here. IF (and that's a big if) I figure this out it's going to be a huge door opening for local dsmers who hate paying someone 500 bucks to hope it's a good tune. again i appreciate your help i just hope I can solve this and solve for others who are having this issue with unresolved threads...just frustrating is all

I've ditched all my black box ecu and gone to evo in everything, but I was just logging a customers car the other day on v2.9 and ceddy without issue. I've never had to add XML's to the evoscan folder. I alter the logging formula under dsm/3000gt to match the map sensor I'm using but that's it.
