I use mine as a self-proclaimed rusty/oiled nut/bolt/fastener tray. LOL

I painted mine today. I'm getting it replaced. I made several gouges trying to get the wiper blades off the motors. I also lost a cowl screw, broke a clip, and lost a rubber cover for the wiper nut somewhere in the engine bay. Anyone know the part number for the rubber cover?

I had the same issue. I found that wiggling back and forth helped release the wiper blade. Also, soak it with BG Penetrating lube.
I'll post a picture eventually of my new OEM cover, with new OEM wiper arms and new OEM plugs and clips. It's pretty. :)

i feel your pain, did that when i needed to have the windsheild replaced.

the cap for the wiper to cover the bolt is MR109849 from JNZ's site, $.27 each :thumb:

Yeah I was tugging it and wiggling, digging a screwdriver underneath it for leverage, all that crap. Then I sprayed some PB blaster and it popped off by itself miraculously. DSMs.

Awesome thanks. I tried searching for it but couldn't find it.

np., its on my list to get once i figure out what to do with these blocks LOL.

I tried to order new screws for my cowl from my local dealership and I was told they are no longer made. Fuuuuu........

Resurrection of an old thread! J Heath. You will find out as you try and get OEM parts that they are getting discontinued the older our cars get. Try autozone where they have the miscellaneous bolt and such. I have see plastic clips there before and they might have what your looking for.

Kinda off topic but dealship no longer carry parts if the car is 10 years or older. They will just sell what they have left. That is what the dealership told me.

I had one of the carbon fiber cowls ones on my old Talon, and they don't fir worth a shit. It bows in the middle, falls below the fender line (on the passenger side for me) and the clip holes don't line up at all.

Painting with Krylon Fusion is a good idea. I'm not sure how well that would hold up in the long run, but it looks good when new. :thumb:

All you need to renew the look of the black plastic cowl cover is some Createx Opaque black latex paint and a small sponge. You wipe the paint into the cover similar to applying shoe polish. It makes it look new with a nice semi-gloss finish. Any goofs can easily be wiped off with a small rag dipped in alcohol.

The paint acts like a stain to the plastic surface and it lasts for years on my cars here in AZ. It is thin like a stain so it doesn't flake and you can paint it carefully while on the car. It's one of many procedures I do to detail a car before selling.

4 oz. CREATEX Opaque Black 5211-4Z Airbrush Paint - Art | eBay

As an alternative I have also used any good quality opaque black latex T-shirt paint from a craft store like Michaels or HobbyLobby.

Question..
I just painted mine.
And I'm looking for fasteners and the cap that goes on the wipers.

I don't have access to caps right now, so i can't find if there is a part # for those caps.

I suspect the fasteners are still around, just not the screws.

Thanks.

You can also check with Stevie from Miller import parts. He has some hard to find used stuff. A good guy to deal with too.
