I'm working on it! haha its hard to find time to get out and work on it. I need to run out and get some supplies and get my ass in gear. At least its starting to get warmer here in Ohio. HOPEFULLY by this weekend ill have the front end finished up or at least all tacked in place. I will most definitely keep this thread updated. As for the manifold, Eaton Motor Works just moved into a new shop so that has been on hold for a couple weeks. I have the mock up pictures of the manifold tacked but I cant release them yet muahah! Patience young padawans

**UPDATE 3/21/17**

Started to work on the new core support last night. I got the horizontal tube cut to length and temporarily mounted. I still have to drill the bolt holes out bigger and weld a 1/2" ID piece of tube to it that the bolts will go through(with new bolts). Once that is done the upwards tube will fit perfect. Unfortunately I ran out of cut off wheels so I wasn't able to cut the other tube or cut the other frame rail cap :( Off to the store today to get some more supplies!

Here is the temp bolts holding the tube in place. This is where I will weld the "sleeves" for the bolts

-Also, the bullfab cross member wont be staying purple to those of you who might be wondering haha!

well I am probably going to have to redo these. Trial and error, I guess I got lucky notching my cage getting everything to fit first try! Oh well, it felt nice to set them in place to see how it will look! Once I grind these notches out I'm pretty sure they will be 1/2" too short...... :(

Version 2.0 fits much better! Made the main tube about 3" longer, radiator is going to fit perfectly, and the left side tube fits almost perfect just need to notch the right side tube out and I can get to welding! I've got some time to work on it tonight so hopefully I can just about wrap this up tonight!

It is MS, however a friend of mine has a bunch of moly left over that I might grab, I don't really feel like redoing this whole thing again however so I will probably end up just keeping it as the MS haha. SOON for the manifold, hoping for next week or the following week. I guess that means I need to get my butt in gear!

That's a wrap for the lower half of the front end! Next on the chopping block is prepping this as well as the rest of the bay for a a fresh coat of paint. Once that is completed I will be dropping the new valve seals in and by then I should have my new manifold and I can get this thing all put back together!

**UPDATE 4/25/17**

Started to primer the engine bay so I can see imperfections easier, lower half of the core support is finished up. Contemplating whether or not to make the top part out of 1/2" round stock or to reinforce it as is..

Also, started on the valve stem seals using the Euro tool. I tried to use the rope trick where you cram rope into the cylinder without taking the head off the block. I don't know what I am doing wrong but when I try to compress the valve spring the entire valve moves with it, I am assuming the rope is not holding the valves in place like it should. Any help here is appreciated as this is my first time doing this! Here is a pic before I took the cams out S3 billet goodness

The engine bay should be 100% prepped for paint by the end of this week so beginning of next week it should be all painted and finished up. As for my new manifold from Eaton Motorworks the only thing we were waiting on was his new badges to come in. They arrived yesterday so all that's left is some minor porting on the collector and to weld his badge on the manifold !!!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Installing Go-Fast parts is my favorite part and I am so close to it!

I cant wait either! As for the alum res I want one so bad! We are setting up a group buy of about 15-20 of them, hop on facebook and get in on it when he does it! His work is incredible

I usually get a few valve sticking when I use that tool as well. To get the spring to compress without having the valve move. I compress the spring slightly, and then I lightly tap the spring retainer. That should loosen the keepers and allow you to continue compressing the spring without the valve moving with the spring. Hope that helps.

**UPDATE 5/8**

Finished up all the valve seals, torqued the cams back in, have since timed the motor. Tonight is more engine bay prep! Coming together slowly but surely!

Mounted the catch can, just need to make mounts for the front mount, upper core support and radiator and its paint time!! This paint is going to look so good in the engine bay!

Recruited my girlfriend to help with prepping the bay, just about ready for paint. Couple odds and ends to tie up and one or two more coats of primer then it can finally be pretty again!

**AWESOME UPDATE 5/16/17**

First things first my manifold is finished and I love it!

Brandon built this specifically for a tubed front end. This manifold allows you to still run a full size rad and places the turbo right in the high beam section of the headlight!

Engine bay prep is damn close! I must have had a few too many beers when working on my car last night haha when I was reinforcing the upper core support I welded the bars too far to the outside so I couldn't even get my headlights in.....

Needless to say I was pretty irritated at this point because instead of having to redo these I could have had enough time to finish the intercooler mounts.

Version 2.0

Started on the front mount brackets aaaaaanndd like everything today nothing went how I wanted it to and I ran out of gas for my welder mid way through tacking these two on.. So this is where I left off

I bought a bunch of expandable heat resistant braided loom that worked really well. ill see if i can find the link. It worked really well for the universal wiring harness I used for the chassis and the AEM one for the engine

So I got it all from McMaster-Carr
