I know this thread has been dead for quite some time but I'm just updating that I have made it to see the 200,062 mile mark with a stock block and transmission in my car, Stock turbo with minimal play. I have another 8k to go until I have 50k on the sbr stage 3 head

I test drove a 91 tsi awd that had 216k. owner claimed it was original engine. Did run great with no smoke or knocking. had some mods too like exhaust, small16g, supra smic. I owned a 90gst that cracked a piston at 177k on original. i had a bad crack in the manifold which i think caused it to run lean at 22psi. i had done a compression test about 3 weeks prior and every cylinder was a 150.

186,000 on n/t all original. Replaced the tranny at those miles. Immediately after trans install timing belt snapped at start up so I replaced that too. Sold it and should still be running good.

that 800k car looks like it reads 300k. Maybe its just me?

While were on the topic of mileage... how bout LOWEST 1G MILEAGE.... any takers?

A guy at the Shootout two years ago had a 1990 Talon TSi AWD that he bought brand new as a leftover for $17,440....he showed me the original bill of sale and window sticker that he had in the glovebox. The car had 29,xxx original miles on it at the time I saw it two years ago.

The car has a few small upgrades done to it that I believe were done well before there was much in the way of aftermarket parts available for our cars. I believe the guy told me it had a Small 16G, top/bottom FMIC from a Starion, and a few other goodies.

I have video of it on my VHS-C camcorder....no way to get it to digital. There is no rust on ANYTHING- even the freakin' brake calipers look like brand new ones from the parts store. The car is truly the most attractive 1G I've ever seen....it's so clean, and it's that goldish-silver color that was used in the early '90s.

How about a pic yourself? In one of the 'mileage threads' I have a pic posted.

wow this thread is old, I went from 106k to 177k and change since I last posted

Last year at the shootout was a white 1g with 29k on it. AWD, absolutly spotless that an older man owned and was trying to sell around 8-10k. It still had the plastic cover that went over the factory BOV and the carpet covers from the dealer. Car had a slue of aftermarket gauges in it but other then that it was bone stock down to the factory tires. He said he uses synthetic oil and the car gets started up and driven around the block once or twice a month.

201,731 Miles on the chassis, and it was the same amount on the original block but it recently spun a bearing. So, the new number is 201,731 Chassis 10.9(yes only 10.9 miles) on the rebuild. Original everything else, minus the mods. The 14B I have on there now, has about the same. I think 150-170k ish, and has uncomfortable amounts of shaftplay, as soon as I get the money the Evo III 16G goes on.

I had 279,000 miles on the original motor in my talon, Old lady had it before me and used it as a daily driver, i bet she never saw boost. car had ok compression but motor was replaced due to warped balance shaft.

For the funnies and giggles. I know the threads very old but wanted to add to it. 380k

Took the picture while driving.

That's impressive!

The 1g I first posted about, got parked at 319K. I've debated about digging it out of the weeds and reviving it. Still runs. My brother took it over, then parked it as he got a different car.

WOW - I hope I can make it to 380

I'll just be breaking 170k in my 90 gst after I get everything back together (replacing synchros, clutch, front struts)

original engine and tranny mostly daily driven..

Highest mileage DSM I've had was a '95 Eagle Talon 420A with 267,000 on it. Sure drove like it's been around the Earth a dozen times. That VS my '95 RS that had 40K on a crate engine, night and day. Lowest mileage was about ~90K on a GSX. My current GST has 190K.

My 2002 Mustang has also just hit 250K. The engine had 248K on it before I yanked, and the new engine doesn't have any more power than the old one, but runs fantastic. Must have been well maintained or my cats are majorly clogged :D

My DSM is getting a freshening next. My Mustang squeaks, bounces and after 4 PS pumps won't stop whining, and the DSM has so much more potential :)
