I haven't really gotten any new parts for the car, I've just been working on getting the car ready for two drag race events the next two weeks. I'm hoping to break into the 12's this week and hopefully learn a bit more about my setup from some results on paper. Time slips to come at the end of the week hopefully! Stay tuned!

Well this past winter I set a goal of running a 12.xx quarter mile and I was able to do that last weekend! I know this is a fairly mediocre time for an e85 powered 16g gsx. However I am happy that I met my goal. I was losing traction on street tires from the launch and my clutch was slipping once I got into 3rd gear. I can't shift the car too quickly at high rpms either so there's multiple things contributing. Not to mention most local racers claim this track to always have high et's. So this winter I'll be adding a new clutch to the list of things to do to replace the worn out centerforce dual friction.

If anybody has an input on a clutch for this car feel free to let me know! Currently leaning towards a south bend.

Well the end of the car season is almost here and I've been figuring out my plans for the car while it is parked for the winter. My overall goal is to fix any mechanical problem with the car so I can continue to enjoy it virtually worry free next year. I also am going to go with a Southbend clutch setup to put the power down next year! If funds allow I want to do a speed density conversion with a tial q bov as well.

Seeing as the car didn't really give me any trouble at all, minus the clutch pedal snapping again, I don't feel the need to go ridiculous with anything. I want to have a good overall car, not just something that excels in one area. More updates coming soon!

Well I've gotten a few new goodies for the car which I'm extremely excited for!

First, I addressed the slipping clutch issue. I got in contact with TMZ Performance and Tim recommended the Southbend SS/TZ-B clutch kit for how I use the car. I am very excited for this clutch!

December 11th was my birthday, and my amazing girlfriend treated me with a Tial Q bov, along with a plush of my favorite Pokemon! This has been a piece that I've wanted for quite a while, and will work great for converting to speed density.

I had been contemplating a turbo upgrade, and on my birthday I decided to treat myself to something nice as well. I found an amazing deal on a lightly used FP HTA Green turbocharger and jumped on it instantly. I'm excited to be able to bring more information about this turbo to the forum, since there isn't a ton of information on this specific turbo.

More updates will be coming as work and parts progress! Stay tuned!

Very nice!!! I need to get my engine bay repainted but scare to remove all the lines and wiring.

Christmas came and I got the FP intake without the recirculation tube, along with the filter, and coupler to install it on the FP HTA Green. I am so excited to finally own this piece!

More updates will come as I get the transmission out of the car this weekend!

Well, since my transmission is an hour and a half away from me at TMZ Performance getting a small leak fixed, I figured pulling the engine would be easier to work on it. I have a very small oil leak coming from the oil pump area, and after further inspection, appears to be the front case gasket, however I'll be replacing other seals in the area as well. I'm also replacing the MLS head gasket that the previous owner installed, with an OEM composite head gasket to ensure that I won't be having any sealing issues. Hopefully once I get the call that the transmission is all done, I can get this thing together and running again! Here's how it sits currently.

It's been a while since any decent updates, I just haven't had much to do with the car since I'm still waiting on a few things. I have decided to ditch the fp green after seeing that it will definitely get me away from my overall goal with the car. One thing that I love is the streetability of a smaller turbo. But then I realized that I can have both. So I decided to find a good condition fp3052. I ended up finding a complete kit that was ran with the proper oil supply components in place. I cannot wait to run this turbo!

I will have more updates coming regularly soon, since my transmission is all done at TMZ!

Some great things have been happening lately to get the car back together! First off, I got my transmission back from TMZ Performance, and it turned out great! It ended up getting bead blasted and ceramic coated, inspected, 3rd and 4th gear synchros and shift fork, some bearing preloads adjusted, and new seals all the way around. Tim did a great job on the transmission and I would HIGHLY recommend his services to anyone looking to have work done on their transmission.

I also decided to polish my compressor housing on the new turbo. I didn't spend a ton of time getting in every little nook and cranny, but when it is installed on the car, it will look great!

I also got my intercooler piping back from being powdercoated. I couldn't wait to get the Tial Q BOV mounted on the pipe! I think the color combo of the two turned out amazing!

The engine will be fully assembled this weekend! I'm just waiting on my new oil pump and straight cut gears and new water pump to finish up the lOMGblock. Then the engine and transmission can go in the car and I can finish this thing up!

Stay tuned!

Big things have happened! The car is back home in running and driving condition! I was able to get it home with next to zero issues which was a huge relief. Since then, I've driven the car around 20 miles in town, and it feels great! I haven't spent any time dialing things in, as I am going to be getting pump gas back in the car for the time being. I'll work on idle tuning, as well as other goodies, while the car is on jackstands for the wheels getting powdercoated and new tires installed. Here is a picture of the engine bay as it sits right now, however not everything is completed yet. More goodies and updates to come!

I've just been driving the car here and there, and I'm loving everything about it so far. The new turbo spools up just as fast if not faster than the 16g.

I was finally able to get my wheels powdercoated and get some new tires. I went with 235/45/17 bfg sport comp 2 tires, since I've had good luck with them in the past. Here's the new look of the wheels!

I also got my Calan vs3 catch can installed. I relocated the battery down on the subframe using the Gofer diy. This is a great looking piece and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a catch can setup.

First car show of the season was a huge success. The car got a ton of attention and it was nice hearing all of the compliments on the car.

I've been wanting to get a set of hood struts for a while now, and I finally pulled the trigger on some. I purchased my kit from eBay. The brand is Sokie Tech, and everything about it is awesome. The kit was packaged very well, and the quality is top notch. They make hood strut kits for all sorts of vehicles, so I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

Here's some pictures of the parts and the finished product.

More things on their way! Stay tuned!

Your car looks great. I have a question for you, how is that heat shield on the exhaust manifold holding up for you? The tab that goes under the manifold to turbo bolts broke off on mine within a couple months of using it. I made a new tab out of steel and it too broke.
