The car I'm building is a 1990 talon tsi awd, that champaign'ish color

There is a pretty straight body white 1990 gsx not running missing some things that I already purchased off the car LOL. I wanted to buy the built trans off him (double synchro 2-4, welded center diff, all the other bells and whistles that come in a "built" trans most is just rebuilt though, by dogbox transmissions in nj) and inquired about the suspension (agx, sportline combo)

... Instead he asked me if i wanted to buy the whole car for a really good price,

it's got a 4 bolt rear (I already bought one for my 1990 sitting in my backyard so I would sell one of them),
stock t.case (maybe would hold for a spare),
that trans (would keep my stock for a spare),
rebuilt bottom end low low miles (might sell might keep),
semi built/ported/o ringed head with bc280s and bc springs/retainers (probably would sell the guts and put my parts in and use that, Or transfer his guts to my existing head and sell that one complete),
4 layer HG,
ported mitsu 16g on a stock 1g exhaust manifold,
3" exhaust,
a good fmic (looks like ETS street but not sure.. Also looks brand new)

I already bought the JMF DRAG smim and 3" uicp off the car that's how i found out about it.

But it still has the hot side intercooler pipe to the J for the 16g..

it's got a new clutch master cyl, with a rubber coated SS clutch line going to the slave cylinder,

it's got a custom fiberglass hood (corner where it meets the windshield/fender broke off about the size of a fist, but it's repairable)
it's got that suspension (agx's with sportline springs.)

It has a walbro 255 (so do I, but I'm already upgrading to a 450) and its got all an8 feed line and welded fittings to stock rail, to an6 return I think... I forget what kind but i think it's got a good AFPR, and it's got a good inline fuel filter but all that I'm doing on my car new so I would sell all that...

It also comes with an eprom ecu with ecmlink, I already have so I would probably sell..

The interior is pretty much gutted behind the front seats, but the body panels are all straight. The cars dirty from sitting for a while..

But I could also use the wire harness, for a spare one to tuck.. Since it would be my first tuck job I would want a spare..

Here's where the bad news and questions come into play.

So he said he can't find the title, and he doesn't have any other cars, and doesn't have insurance on this one, and you need proof of insur To get a new title in pretty sure, He lives in NJ by the way.. So if I would buy this it would just be with a bill of sale as a parts car and I have no place to store it. I already got a abandoned notice on mine because my EFFING *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEP'ED* up neighbors didn't like looking at it while they tried to sell their house... so it's parked on my parents lawn as I work on it. No garage here.

I hate to say it because it's in such good shape aside from just dirty from sitting there and the front bumper is kinda warped from being cut and stuff.. But if I got it, I would probably have to strip the stuff I could use and sell, and *ouch* chop up the frame and stuff and scrap it... God it even hurts to type that...

The price is really good I probably would make most of it back selling the stuff i don't need off it, and after the car was.... Done.. I would be in the same shape as I am now, or better, with all the parts I need and a few extras in case something breaks..

I just would hate to cut it up, but I can't have a stripped car sitting on my block and I don't really know anyone with space to put it somewhere, and I wouldn't want to store it when there wouldn't be a title anyway. And I know it's not stolen or anything, but I would run the vin and all just to make sure...

So now that this novel is finished.. What do you guys think...?

i was in a similar situation to you. i bought a '91 for engine/parts, no title. The one i bought was crunched pretty good on the front right side, so i didn't feel so bad to cut it up. It sat around in my driveway until wifey couldn't look at it anymore, so it had to go. There's really not much you can do with a stripped out hulk with no title, anyways. Think of it like this: for every car that gets crushed or chopped, the rest just become more valuable !

I say, buy it, sell the extras, and get what you can. RIP eclipse shell.

As long as the car goes to the recycler/crusher without a drivetrain (in most states), then you should have no issue disposing of it. Of course, you might still wanna run a VIN check with the police to verify it is not reported stolen.

Haha yeah kind of my thoughts. It would be like harvesting organs out of an old friend(weirdo) though on a clean one.. but like u said.. Will help me and others get on the road.. And it will make the stuff I get out of it real cheap LOL.

Well i would probably cut it up in like 20+ peices and uhaul that ess-oh-bee on outta here, a lot of wreckers n junk places won't even pick cars up without a motor or trans that u can't steer n whatnot..

And yeah that's what I said at the very end of that book i wrote up there LOL

So I probably will save to get it... I'll just check the vin, write up a bill of sale, and do with it/get off it what I can..

Anyone else have any input?
Or any experience?
