Does anyone have a 2G AWD on stock suspension?
It's been over 15yrs since ive sat in a DSM with OEM suspension.

How does it feel vs lets say decent suspension upgrades?

Mine doesn't bounce or scrape under normal driving, i can go over bumps
( normal ones Not that insane crap popping up all over america )

But the older i get the higher i want to ride. LOL

im considering going with oem suspension, for the rear to start with.
I use my 2G to tow a trailer most times and i kinda like the rear to sit higher.

Is there a oem like suspension that performance better / adjustable height and stiffness ?

My 98 gsx is still on stock suspension and it rides really nice . This summer i will be changing my struts and shocks cause they are leaking . I was going to go with coilovers but i didn't want to lower the car or have a harsh ride .

I held onto this little tid bit for a while and posted it in a few groups on Facebook once I could verify it. It took me a bit longer to get the setup right, but the ride quality is great for a car that I know will get down an boogie when cranked on.

In March KYB released their $40 off 4 mail in rebate. I'd tracked this rebate back to 2014 and found that each year they'd released the same rebate at the same time each year- so I waited.

You can get a set of adjustable KYB AGX struts, giving you variable dampening control, for about $280 from Rock Auto (for a 2g) after the mail in rebate. The rebate can be found here:

I ordered the struts and installed them along with a set of Eibach Sport Line springs that left the car so bouncy that I quickly gave up driving it and found a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs as a replacement. I'm sure stock springs would do just fine, if not better, for ride quality.

If I had the need for another set of struts, I'd gladly get another set of AGXs. The car feels firm, but not overly troublesome with bumps. I haven't scraped yet and have some pretty nasty stuff that I have to go through. I've also not turned the dampning up over "1" on any of the struts and it feels like the car really responds like stock while giving a lowered appearance on the Pro-Kit springs.

Obviously, I'm voting Pro-Kits and AGXs.

I also have Pro-Kit springs and Tokico blues on my AWD spyder. That car handles really well also, but is a bit more firm since I can't reduce the dampening of the struts.

Really I think your choice of tire is going to dictate most of your comfort level.

This is just something I'm experiencing right now with my car, as I just got it running and driving with a tubular front subframe with solid mounts, and solid mounted (heim joint) control arms. Old KYB stock replacement shocks/struts on all 4 with unknown (probably ebay) lowering springs.

Right now I've just got stock 16s on it with the factory size 215/60/16's and I was utterly surprised at how well it rides. While obviously very rigid, there is no harshness to it at all, and I'm attributing that to the tall tires. Just something to keep in mind.

THANK YOU both for the responses.
Cox so basically those shocks paired with OEM springs would give me a good combination .

The thing is many coils , lowered or adjustable gives a horrible ride.
And even though im open to adjustable springs that do allow a height less than or equall to stock i wouldnt know were to beging.

I do know this ive read eibach disappointed many more.

I've owned my car since 2010 never touched the suspension cause I loved the ride and didn't want to spend money on wheels. Now I have a set of Evo 8 rims I'm going to bite the bullet and get a nice set of coils. Never been or drove in a lowered DSM before, I think I will like the stiff feel and the roads in Florida are decent believe it or not just the drivers suck.

YeH, i know .

+1 @doubleclutch : tires make a big difference though which honestly surprised me. I just swapped from my Blizzak winter tyres to my Sumitomo summer tires and the tire noise is a little less than what it was but the handling is definitely more responsive now and the ride is considerably rougher. Plus Michigan roads suck ROFL

What??

ROFL the stock suspension works well although its rather bouncy and the body rolls as doubleclutch pointed out.

I was also making the point that if there is a certain feel you are trying to achieve or are worried about the ride being too harsh or too soft that tires make a considerable difference when it comes to daily driving at least with pot-holes, rumble strips, etc
