Good afternoon gents. The last two days ive been attempting to replace my clutch, on my own (no mechanical expertise). Im at the stage of trying to remove the exhaust , so that i am able to remove the driveline, etc. So currently, ive been using nut buster, a torch, and airgun to get at the two nuts attached to the exhaust flange. I finally got one free and removed, and the other finally broke free, but is just spinning, stuck in the flange. i cannot remove it. If any of you fellas have 2 cents to throw in, id appreciate it, thank you.

Alright, i finally got that that sucker to break free! I lowered the exhaust and the driveline, pretty sure im ready to take apart the T case, etc. One thing tho, do i have to have both cv axles removed form the vehicle to swap the clutch? Because i only have the passenger side axel removed..
 
I'm in the process of pulling the transmission on my old '98 GST (thank god its not AWD ROFL) and to remove the driveshafts I unbolted the control arms from the car rather than unbolting the control arms from the wheel hub assembly (I think that's what you'd call it).

You'll have a control arm which is nearer the rear of the car and that has two bolts that hold it to the subframe of the car (careful, it's heavy!) and then you'll have the suspension upright which has two bolts on it that clamp a sleeve around the suspension to 'squeeze' it and hold it in place. Then after that you use plenty of elbow grease and a few choice words to pull the hub assembly toward the back of the car and as far outward as you can and then either pry the driveshaft out or use a hammer and a 'chisel' to smack the very center of the driveshaft and push it out of the wheel hub. You'll be covered in grease but it'll be fun :thumb:
 
Thanks for all the help guys, sorry for not getting back to you before. Got the flywheeel pulled out last night, am waiting for it to be resurfaced now! I did leave the hubs connected to the ball joints, and worked around them to remove the axles. Ill upload a pic when i get back to the shop, but wait till you see the pressure plate i removed, LOL. I am currently trying to track down new studs and nuts for the exhaust flange downpipe.
