I started building myself a1g (91 gsx) this year, and it's had it share of issues, well I just bought a 92 talon, to strip for its auto setup and 4 bolt rear. The other things I want to swap into my car are, the dash, condenser, cruise and turn signal switch and fuel tank (mine had broken studs and leaks around turns when full) and I was going to cut out the rockers and rear wheel well sheet metal where my car is rusted. This car also has a bottom end with less than 100 miles on it, BUT this car has been sitting for ten years because a used timing tensioner failed and bent the valves on the brand new engine so the owner just gave up.

Upon inspecting it, the underside of the chassis is in better shape than mine, no dents in the uninody rails, mined has one large dent in one.

So I was thinking about swapping the stuff from my car into this one and using this new chassis... this is what I'd have to swap on to it.
Front front bumper, hood and pop up headlights
Probably my engine, but the head at minimum
My engine management
Fuel system
Windshield
Front doors
Rear bumper and tail lights
Seats and carpet
And FMIC and piping as well as stereo and what ever else little things

Then of course I'd have to register, insure and get this new one inspected.

Both ways are a lot of work, but I need help deciding which one to go with.. I feel more comfortable with my current car because I've had it a while, have sorted through its issues and know it inside and out...the New one worries me alittle because of how long it's been sitting and questioning if move have chewed up the wiring any where.

Two major concerns I have are
1.) Well the pop up headlights need major work as far as wiring to work correctly out is it a simple swap?

2.) If I auto swap my current car, will I be able to make the "power/economy" lights in the dash work easily and will the overdrive lights and switch also be easy to take care of?

So what would you guys do, I know some of you have swapped all these things on these cars before,.I'd love your input as far as the auto and pop up swap and making them work properly

Honestly swap parts off your car to the donor, its a no brainer really. Keep the clean shell scrap the rusty one. It took me 3 cars to make one good one.
Drill the spot welds on the front support and swap the whole front support to the other shell if you want to keep the pop ups.
Also swap the chassis harness your car being a 91 means everythings plug and play. The chassis harness runs from the fues panel on the drivers side, through the wheel well around the core support to the the intake side of the engine. You can disconnect it from the rear chassis harness right at the fuse panel if i remember correctly.....still have to finish parting my 90. You'll also have to swap the dash harness then from there on out its plug and play like it was a 91 from stock.
Rust is very very very hard to keep away when its started ask me how i know....
