Anyone have any insight as to the correct installation depth for the passenger side CV shaft seal in the transmission? Installed new seal recently, developed a slow leak, suspect the seal was installed to deep as there is no positive stop for the passenger side seal. The service manual only specs. out 'use the special tool'.

Usually the seal being flush with the lip of the trans is sufficient

Unless there is a lip on the inside of the hole where the seal sits, flush is usually spec. You'll want to make sure the area the seal slides in, is free of heavy scratches and is sparkling clean. Otherwise it'll deform the seal slightly and sure enough oil will find its way through.
