Hello fellow dsmer's!
I want to start off by saying I'm not a complete newb, just new to this forum. I current have a 92 talon tsi producing close to 400hp on pump gas. I'm currently trying to hit 500 hp to the wheels. There are tons of extremely knowledgeable members on this site and I thought it best to seek advice before purchasing anything for the build. With that out of the way I will start off by listing what I do have already.
Evo III 16g
Fp manifold
Magnus intake mani
750 cc inj
Aem high flow fuel rail for looks LOL
Aem afpr
Aem wideband
BC 272's
BC bee hive springs/titanium retainers
Eagle rods
Weisco pistons
Walbro 255 lph
Dsmlink v3 lite
Masft/ gm maf
Ebay front mount and piping

What changes would you guys make to achieve that goal? I'm thinking of running a holset hx35 but Im worried its not gonna spool like I want. What injectors would you guys recommend? What other upgrades should I consider as well? My budget is around $5500 thanks in advance!

390 was what we left it at if I'm not mistaken. And I plan on starting on pump gas and moving to e85 and speed density. Both are new rhelms for me and will be a bit of a learning curve but I'll manage.

390whp on what dyno?
Showzone motorsports in Ladson, SC tuned it... not sure what kind of dyno they have. I've read that on here several times about the different types of dynos affecting numbers... why is that?

Looks like they use the Mustang AWD Dyno

ThanKS for clarifying that!! Any suggestions on inj size? I was planning on 1600's with the thought of converting to e85 later on. I also think I will settle with the hx35 and get a bep housing. I have a general idea of what I'm wanting to run I just wanted to pick your brains to make sure that it will be suitable before I purchase.

I've also read on other threads of guys running bosh 044 inline pumps. Will that be necessary. I'm thinking it won't be until I make the change to e85... since I will have to move more volume at that point.

Used HX35 - $200-400
BEP Housing - $225-280
O2 Housing - $150-300
Wastegate - $200-375
So around $800

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the holset is better bang for the buck. I can get a used garrett gt35r for that and rebuild if need be. Correct me if I'm wrong! The more I dig into it the less enticing it looks.. :idontknow:

How many of you posting have ran an hx35, twin scroll hx35, or even a turbo close in size on E85?
what're your thoughts on the hx35? Like I said the more I dig into the more I'm leaning towards a garrett or something along the lines...

Got my hx35 for 150 bucks, and o2 was 200, wastegate can be had for ~100-125 via classifieds, bep is the main killer price wise...
Don't forget oil feed lines; cost me all of $35...
is it a genuine holset turbo? And where did you happen to find it if you dont mind me asking. Cheapest I can find is $250 on ebay... looks like I'm going to be junkyard diving for a Cummins diesel soon... thanks for all the advice btw :thumb:

ya genuine holset hx35w via ebay. I stumbled upon it and it was under auto parts and wasn't listed as to the type IIRC but had the picture of the ID tag so I put down the minimum bid and nobody else bid. Sometimes poor descriptions can work out haha

I think I've decide on these http://m.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Bosch-Fuel-Injectors-0280150839-CNG-152LB-1600cc-Set-of-8-/252798740443?hash=item3adbfaa7db:g:AW8AAOSwal5YED0J&_trkparms=pageci%3A0483831a-0403-11e7-9a2d-74dbd1803da5%7Cparentrq%3Aae1aa64115a0a358968d7e33fffdef5a%7Ciid%3A4 I've had a lot of luck with bosh in the past, and it's a set of 8 so I'll have spares of needed. I wanted to stick with FId's since they've been good to me but budget and two kids and that's a no go... :sneaky::sneaky:

what you think about this setup? http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/ho...shment-header-and-o2-housing-complete.509766/
Deal or no deal? Seems kinda high, and that exhaust mani looks like it's seen it's better days. Nothing I guess a little high temp paint can't cure i guess. Main thing is the turbo, bep housing and o2 housing are already there! :idontknow:

Hmmm. I see an Inducer laying on a valve cover for some reason and a holset that is fed from the head...hmmm. I guess it worked.

Ya definitely iffy being fed from the head... Guess that particular holset likes low oil pressure?
Another thing that would be a no-go (for me) is that the BEP housing is married aka welded to the manifold... Be a b!tch if the manifold craps out...

Looks decent!! I'm gonna message that guy now. I did notice the manifold was welded or melted together whatever you prefer. Looks like they used fifty sticks on that joker. LOL this one looks decent too little pricey but comes with the bep housing. It'll need a rebuild but I'll be doing that with any turbo I get for piece of mind. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/hx35-7-blade-bep.508187/

what inducer don't see one?

I would recommend a walbro 450 lph pump. Running one and it's been problem free. I think you should look into the HX 40. With your set up you should be able to rev up for the hx40 lag is not as bad as you think. Even though your not at full boost your still boosting and making power at 3500 rpm

HX40 is laggy but all depends on how you want to drive it. I see full 36lbs at 4700 just for thought.
