Are the GSX and GST becoming much harder to find? I have been searching for one in my area for a bit now and they are either junk, expensive, or already built past a point I want to go. Do you all think that they are only going to get harder to find in the following years? So much so that it would be even harder to find one in say 5 or 6 years?

I hate all of you rust free folks. DSMs around here are either a rolling shell around here. or twice as much as it should be. or if you're super lucky like me you find one that's been sitting in a garage for over a decade :)

They are definitely hard to find in the mid south. I've only seen a few nice ones in years of looking. I had to drive to tupelo just to find a clean gst without a motor.

Random listings from my part of the country....

At least one is even a a Auto!

I have seen more reasonable prices in the KC area tho.
DAMN some of those look nice and would be asking for a lot more where I live in the northwest.

I really want one that isn't built to the point where you couldn't DD but also no totally trashed and that seems to be harder to find then the other two haha.

The last time a clean GSX was for sale near me the guy got over 150+ replies and it sold in less than a day. People offered more than the asking price.

There is a clean 420a 2Ga Talon near me listed for $4000 tho.....

So far the cleanest ones I have seen have all been GST Spyders. I wonder if it's because not as many people wanted a convertible to mod and so they got less trashed.

LOLLOL that's a laugh

Every so often a 2g will pop up around me, but its either a gs or gst. There was a gsx locally last year that was trashed but mostly complete. he wanted 6k, no exhaust or dp, burnt rear bumper where it used to be, ecu in the footwell and looked like OPEC exploded on the engine bay. It was so covered on oil you couldn't see bolts or hose clamps.

At this point I'm debating if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

On one hand these cars are going away and you rarely run into another on the street.
On the other hand these cars are going away and it raises the value of the nice ones that are still around.

Even so 6k is insane for that. I wager that mine is at least a little better than that LOL and I still felt bad asking for 6k.

These cars are falling apart.. They will get to be more rare because one in decent condition will be less likely, lots get stripped and turned into track cars. I think if your serious about wanting something comparable the insurance pay out on an EVO will be something worth investment. If I get hit in my talon I can kiss its ass good bye. I wont buy another DSM, an EVO X sure. If I get hit in the EVO I would get a check for enough to buy something else nice. The talon.. well its a rolling loss if I get hit.

I've noticed this in my area. When I got my first Spyder, I had to go hunting for it. They were twice the price of a coupe. But now, they're all over the place. Especially GS models, and I don't particularly have a problem with that.

Dsms are not readily available in my area, rusted rough shape ones go for around 2k. 7 years ago was a different story, parts were every where and a decent amount of cars were up for sale. Things have dried up a good bit now.

Dime a dozen back in the day, man.

They ARE getting harder to find. But that's with any car over time I guess. They'll go up in value, too. Seems they are now.

You find them in packs and broken down/issues/blown motors down here in Florida. Sometimes you can get lucky but odds are against you. Took me over three years to get the one I have now. I debated going to Cali where there seems to be a never ending supply of them. People here sell them for way too much, with nothing done to them. So to answer your question yes they are getting harder and harder to find. Before too long you wouldnt be able to find parts and have to get rid of it just based on the fact that you cant fix it anymore.

Come to alberta man! There's a few on Kijiji almost all the time. A couple on there now. :)

OOHH I know, I creep the alberta kijiji often for dsm's and mk2 supra's. Getting a deal on a dsm in alberta's very easy compared to sask, even mk2 supra's are significantly cheaper out there. I bought a 2g dsmlink in Edmonton a few years back for a steal, made $700 on it....well worth getting home at 3 am.
