What ended up being the final say for wiring and ECU?

Both the Dsm(fuse box side) and evo harness we're used. It's a lot simpler once you start hooking everything up. Having an evo there as a guide really helped a lot. As far as ecu, we used an Evo 8 one. All we had to do is flash it to bypass the ignition system.

The Dsm actually had its first startup a couple days ago! Sadly I can't post videos on here but it's running! Hoping to get some more pictures of it rolling soon.

Glad to say this swap is nearly complete. Once the motor or trans decide to give out, I'll go all out and do the AWD conversion as well.

Also, to make a note that the 3G trans is becoming harder to find but the 99-05 G4JS Sonata/Optima & 4g69 trans are another option out there.

UPDATE:

I finally had the time to drive the Dsm and take some pictures of it. I must admit, i fell in love with it all over again!

I want to thank every single Evo and Dsm owner that helped me get it to this point! First Evo swapped Dsm in California and one of the very few worldwide!

If you want to see more of this Dsm feel free to check it out on Instagram @miguel_dsm.

This car still has lots of goodies coming its way so ill jump on here every once in a while and update the build thread. Huge thanks to those in here who showed support along the way and those who threw in valuable information.

Damn. How high would you rate the difficulty of this swap? Amazing car.

I'd rate it a 6/10 in difficulty for ME
Took a year and half with countless hours/money with Dsmers over at my house helping day and night. I would not have done it by myself. I must admit the swap was slightly overwhelming since there was no how to.

I'm glad I did it thought because I learned ALOT from it and no longer have the fear to wrench on it with hesistation.

It also brought a lot of us in the Dsm/Evo community together, hanging out in the garage till' 2 in the morning. I definelty enjoyed that the most. :dsm:

If you enjoy challenges and money isn't much of an issue, this swap could be for you.:hellyeah:

Very Nice! Got her done! Looks great, now we just gotta wait for you to destroy the 3g tranny... then awd the B!tch :thumb:
So is the build thread dates all correct? Done in about a year-ish?

Transmission is indeed the weakest link on this thing haha. I'll start collecting parts for the awd swap as the time comes nearer.

The swap took around a year and half. Buying parts i needed as I went along were the most time consuming

Just want to say wow you have done an awesome job on this, it is rare for an Evo swapped DSM, but glad you stuck with it and are enjoying it.
