Haven't had a 2nd gen in a while now(about 2years but i have owned 3 N/A's and 2 4G63t's) and i am seeing if anyone in the Walla Walla Washington(99362) area is selling one, or willing to drive it too me. auto or manual it really doesn't matter to me. but personally i would like a 5-speed. if anyone has what i'm looking for and willing to help me get back into a 2nd gen i would appreciate it. looking to spend about $800-$1,300.
 
A junk Dsm goes for $800-$1300 here, I have to assume that things in general are more expensive in Washington state...dont think that you are going to get much these days for that money, Dsm's have dried up pretty good over the last 5 years.

around where i live, the RS and GS 2g's go for 800$ to 1300$ in running and driving condition all the time. its rare to see them sell for more then 1,900$ for a nice one, the 2g GST and GSX where i live, those are the ones that are really hard to find even in a shell form. at least in my experience so far over the years. i have a few leads on some. just trying to explore all my options is all
 
Around St. Louis and the metro area you just don't find any turbo dsms. Hardly any at all. If you do and they're modified the fella will want ~10 grand.

Hard fact: Due to mistakes and rebuilds and buying parts i have right at $30k in mine. If i were to sell it???? Lmao, i would get MAYBE 5k.

I suppose different areas of the US have more/less dsms for sale but i can tell you in my area if a good clean one comes up it is not cheap. I paid 1k for a 95gsx that didn't run.
It was in good shape but became my donor car. So you're looking for a unicorn it sounds like. These cars are very old at this point. and RARE

yeah i get that, when a good clean 2g pops up around me and its a gst or gsx. they are worth more than gold LOL. but im only looking for an RS or GS. i used to have a very clean talon tsi awd auto, but i know i will never come across one like the last one i had. so im just looking for the RS's and GS's.
 
I would sell you mine but I am all the way in Tx :( and I am asking for $2,200. I guess it all depends on how much you want a car and what it means to you as far as value goes but mine is pretty clean so it all depends.

haha, no worries man, i am realizing that all the good deals and clean ones for the price im looking to spend on one are always far away. i almost got one for 300$(needed a radiator and alternator) and it was in my town, but i didn't see it in time and someone else scooped it up for 260$ LOL.

Success congrats bro! Have fun in it keep it clean n turn some heads. O actually sold mine for $2,300 :( not so happy but now im driving a 2000 Mazda Mx-5 Miata Nb :)

thanks man, i appreciate that. and yeah i will definitely be keeping it clean. not too big of a fan of aftermarket body modifications. love the oem look of 2g's. going to be doing a 2gb conversion. already have a full set of side skirts(paid 50$ for them) and a full set of stock gst wheels(only paid 95$) just have to get the front bumper and headlights and i'll be set. and enjoy that NB miata man, those are amazing on back roads.

Damn! That's a steal. I owned a 98 gs manual and sold it with 235k miles on it. I just started as field service clinical engineer and used that eclipse 420a for a solid 18 months i think. Car only had one problem in alllll the miles i put on her. The EGR can and WILL burn stuff up. I was on a business trip heading to Cleveland and kept popping the big fuses. This is a long time ago, mid 2011. It took me a while but i found the loom rubbing against the egr pipe and shorting a wire to ground.

I went through like 3 of the 4 main fuses before i found it and luckily got to an Oreilly LOL. But yea, that was the only problem ever. The 420A was a great engine if you didn't beat it up
 
Don't forget the high lift spoiler and big butt rear bumper.

oh i havent forgotten about the big booty rear end and the high rise LOL. that style is what made me love the 2g's to begin with LOL

yeah, guy locally was parting a 97gs and i definitely scored on it. the dude i got it all from was pretty cool too. and its always good to meet super cool and chill people. and yeah, the 420a is a good motor. sadly the one in my gs was beat pretty good. it'll most likely need to be rebuilt or replaced in about a year. thankfully the 420a motors are usually always cheap LOL
 
Or swap in an evo 4g63 on it. That would be unique. Handful of conversions that I know of.

honestly, i would love to do an SRT-4 swap. but any swap like that would require a good amount of cash and i would like to have at least a garage to keep it in while doing the swap. i currently have a dirt and gravel driveway. but none the less, a swap will happen. it will just take a few years.
