So, my first dsm was a 1996 TSi AWD 5 speed. I loved the car so much but my ignorance led to the bottom end giving out and me feeling like a complete idiot. I did some work to it slowly but then realized in my current situation I couldn't afford to keep it so I had to sell it in a pinch to somebody who probably didn't even deserve such a clean project car, and it killed me! Now 2 years later I see it on CL a shell of its former self... Literally. Maybe it's just me being sentimental, but if somebody was looking for a nice shell to use for a race car or what have you, I can vouch for how nice this one is. It would do my heart good to see it on the road once more in the right hands!

Here's a picture of it in its prime.

How do you know it's the same car? The lower front bumper on the one listed is all white. I'll shoot him a text in the morning as I've been looking for a project for my daughter. I have tons of spare parts for an AWD and enough to get this one back on the road. I see you're in Morristown, I'm in Maynardville.

I know for a fact it is because of the decals and the wheels. The picture I posted is of the car before I put the decals on it. Mostly because of the banner on top, import obsessions is my sponsor and I was the only dsm to be part of the sponsorship program.

And very cool, you're pretty local to me so maybe if you do pick it up we could get together sometime with the DSM's so I could see it in person again!

Turns out my brother is going to buy it and keep it in the family, he always liked the car so I guess it worked out for he best!

I ended up buying the car and picked it up Saturday morning. The guy I got it from said he bought it from another guy that won it in a race. Not sure on the real story of it, but it was last registered by a female. Luckily I got tons of AWD parts and DSM parts, so this one will be road worthy again soon. Thanks for posting it up!

Its probably for the best.. you already have the parts. OP your brother probably dodged a long drawn out project If he still wants a dsm you should convince him to look for one that's already somewhat drivable finding parts for these things is getting tough. Imagine the years he could have spend looking for tough to find parts.. and not enjoying a car.
