Wanted to mount a fan and get a little better setup for my oil cooler. Made a small frame work out of 1/2" angle and mounted my cooler and fan. Then found a good spot to attached it to, choose the inner frame and positioned it so not to affect mounting the bumper cover or getting the dump tube and side exit in there. Had to make up different AN lines for the oil cooler so I went with the blk FTP line I've been using in the engine bay. It's so much easier to work with instead of the SS line.

Next, I moved my battery from the front area by my main fuse box to the rear of the car and also installed a main shutoff switch.

So now since I moved the battery to the rear, this opened up room to have all my electrical reside here. I put my trans pump, trans cooler fan and oil cooler fan all on 12v relays and mounted them as well as the relays for my HID retro fitted lights.

how do you like the magnus intake manifold? Was considering it over the JMF sheet metal manifold.

Wow super surprised your running a TMZ SBC clutch kit! What spec is it if you don't mine me asking, as well why this over a Twin Disk setup?

Thanks,
Its full ceramic B-series and I ******* love it. Really, it reminds me of my old 2600 for street driving around town and that's what I use the car for now mainly. I'm still gonna drag race it a bit but for the most part it's a street car. I had a QM 6 post full race (flywheel and disc) in the car for a summer and it was a complete f***ing nightmare for me, destroyed my syncros and just made the car a pain and I didn't want to drive it and that pissed me off cause I love to DD all summer. So after speaking with Tim and doing my research choose this clutch. Last summer was my first time running it and mind you I never put the car on high boost but I did make some 9800-10000 shifts and it was no issue, That was my biggest concern going back to a single as i hate getting locked out og any gear.

I would love to try a new QM 8 post with some street discs sometime maybe as I know lots of guys run that setup and like it. The QM race TD just didn't work out for my car as it's pretty close to 3250lbs.

Thank you for the insight on your clutch choice. You have the exact same clutch that I just pulled out of my parts car. It has the B disk as well and makes sense since this parts car was putting down 600 on E. Maybe I will get it refurbished and have it as a back up clutch. Knowing your happy with it makes me feel more confidant about using it.

No problem. Yeah I'd certainly try and use it if there's nothing wrong with it. Nice clutch IMO

Picked up my TRE stg4 transmission this past weekend and I hope it shifts as good as good as it looks. Jon sure does some great work up there at TRE and really fast turn around time, time of years good too. Curious to see how my LR 2.0 / 6466 combo responds to the evoIII gearing, prolly won't even notice LOL

couple pictures, noticed the input shaft just shining and seen this engraving. That isotropic process leaves a nice finish.

So bit of an update regarding my trans cooler setup. Welded the fittings and moved the suction point from the drain plug to the spot you see in the picture also drilled and taped for my temp sensor.

Wow this is a really nice build

Uhh thats a sweet oil cap you got there.

Thanks

This is the first time in years, the car is able to move under its own power in January. I've been plagued with trans issues every year and never start fixing it till spring. I'm f***ing determined to get out to my first shootout this year, time is booked off work and the car should be reliable and intact when the time comes to drive out there.(I hope, please DSM gods, please) Can't f***ing wait, come on spring time!!!!

Well I'm glad you kept it a manual, it's a dying breed these days... well that's how I fell about it

Thanks

I'm right with you on this, I have to get my build done by shootout. I am determined to make it this year. Absolutely gorgeous car, I'm tempted to paint mine black just looking at yours.

So I posted this on my FB account thought I'd throw it up here. New TRE trans all installed and its running great, just waiting for the snow to melt. Haven't had the car able to move under it's own power in January for a couple years now, feels pretty good. Backed it out of the garage in order to back it in to change rear end fluid, nice to be able to do LOL

I really hated the idea of moving the fusebox by the wheel, but this one is clean!

I'll say again; i love this build!

I actually relocated my underhood fuse block to the stock Side Mount Intercooler location very similar to him. Instead of terminating all left over plugs - I secured them in a similar spot as his. Now when I install the engine and engine harness I should only have to lengthen a couple connectors and a power wire down in to there.

OP....I really admire your trans cooler setup. It's what everyone wants but never does on the m/t

Hi. So im new to this website and still learning how to use it out of my smartphone. Im also new to basically the car and dsm community. I got my 1995 GSX this past september and was wondering if you can offer me any tips. I dont know nothing about car engineering. And im still learning looking for assistance here and there which is why i joined this place. My car is completely bone stock and i would desire for it to have about 500-700hp. Thing is i dont know where or hoe to start. Im a college student with a budget. Dont make much and make minimum wage so i understand builds take time and money. Regardless though this is a big dream of mine. To have my very first built car and the GSX has been my dream car since i was a kid. So any advise or comment or warning or anything would really be useful to me. Thank you.

Well first thing is you don't come on someones personel build thread asking for help, theres better places to ask. Don't get me wrong, If you a have a specific question reguarding DSM's, then feel free to shoot me a pm, I'm more then willing to help. Don't take my reply the wrong way as I'm not trying to be a dick but looking to be spoon fed by me ain't happening. You are going to have to spend a lot of time educating yourself and this forum has pages beyond pages of useful info.

Here's a link to get you going. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forum/frequently-answered-dsm-questions.44/

Again I'm here to help but not spoon feed. Thanks
