Hey everyone I've been searching around for a few days trying to find what sort of hp would be the max this fmic has been pushed to. I need a fmic that retains the factory crash beam so I'm down to this or ets. Can't really bring myself to spend the money on ets unless I have too. I'm sitting around 400-450hp if I had to guess right now

Really? You trollin? Haha. I know a ton of people have these chime in with what you're pushing through it!

Nope, no trolling. That's an awful lot! Didn't think they were rated that high. I'm interested to see what they can handle. I plan on running it on my car. It would be amazing if they could support that much for the LOW LOW price they sell for. Waiting on first hand testimonies as I'm super curious.

On my 2G I've put down 565 awhp back in 2010 and I'm 600+ awhp right now with the vrsf. Never took IAT measurements before and after so no real evidence if it's still efficient at this point.

I have a VRSF fmic. No dynos anywhere close so I don't know wheel hp, link has estimated 619 @ 39.1lbs of boost flowing 61.3 @ 8150 on a 2.0 with a HX40. 515 ft/lbs of torque.

Good to know! I'm gonna get the VRSF kit then I only plan on going for around 600 eventually. Link is saying I'm around 450 so I didn't want to buy another!

Ears just peaked... I had dismissed VRSF mostly due to the low price thinking it wasn't much better than a cheap ebay FMIC... buuuut this might be one of my purchases soon to replace the one I have and dislike.

I like the vrsf kit. Very good quality piece for the price. Even the silicone couplers are great. Not pushing as much horsepower as others but I'm within the 350 range on a conservative tune. I'm logging within 10* from ambient temp at 22-23 psi @6500 rpm. This intercooler works great for me.

I was pushing 42psi on 6266 and my IAT was 110degree with a 85 degree ambient in AZ I was also running race gas with an aggresive timing map. Never got a dyno but during some street racing I saw 170mph in top of 4th gear. After the run i took temp gun readings of the front mount and was over 200 on the hot side and cold side was a cool 80 degree i didnt understand it when my IAT was reading 110. They are a good intercooler. I did blow apart their silicone copulers though i thought i blew up my motor when it happened. It blew apart at 36psi during a pull. I replaced all the copulers and even made a custom 3in uicp for it.

Any meth or intercooler sprayer?
What are your intake temps?

No meth or sprayer here. I was running E94, though. I don't recall exactly, but I seem to remember them being 120ish (ambient plus 30). Really not bad for how hot it was, and the fact that it was a cheap intercooler. I still use it! When I really need to upgrade, I'll just make my own.

That's awesome!! The vrsf is the kit is for me and apparently many others as well! Glad a good product at a great price actually works!

I use to run a 3" generic FMIC very similar to the VRSF. This IC worked great with my fp green with airflow in the 45+lbs/min range, I would get a 10-15 degree rise in a 3 and 4th gear pull with ambient in the 75-80 range. As time went on and I upgreded turbos I was starting to notice a very large jump in IAT. With fp3065 I would see 30+ degree climb on a 3rd and 4th gear pull with boost in the 32-36 range. This is when I started looking for a 4" Garrett to combat my 30+ degree jump in IAT's. I was seeing.
It wasn't cheap but I finally tracked down a legit 4" Garrett core and on the same pull with my 3065 where I'd see a 30+ degree rise, now with the Garrett core my initial temps would go DOWN a couple degrees then start to rise but only 3-8 degrees. This was with my 3065 at the time but I experienced the same results with my 3582 and 3586 and with those two I was it the 700 range. So this is my experience with IC mind you I never did run the VRSF specificly but my first IC was very similar and like I said worked great up to a point. So you really got to weight out what your goals are and if spending the extra is worth it.

Did you run meth or any method of cooling?
If anything over 700hp starts to become a problem, there's always a few options to keep it cool! Meth, CO2 intercooler sprayer, and NO2, so not really an issue in my eyes but good to know!! The over 700hp mark won't happen until the kids move out or the oil field hits good again! I Hate being a responsible husband, father and adult all the damn time :p LOL. Wish I could be selfish again!! Guess that's why it's called a mid life crisis when it hits LOL!! Love my family and love my mistresses(cars):nono: so it's a juggling act! It's plenty for a good while and for $309 I can't complain!

It's certainly a great IC for the price and will certainly meet a lot of peolpes goals. I was trying to show where it may become a hiderence but theres ways around it like you stated.

My IAT is pre meth injection, so I'm seeing all IC efficiency with my setup.
