Hi fellow dsm peeps.I had a 1989 conquest 17 yrs ago. Been a ford v8 guy since. I bought a1990 talon lst december aand learning a lot. It has 660 injectors,272 cams.ck 20 turbo at 25lbs boost. Idles like crap but runs down rd like I never seen before from an 8cyl. Huge intercooler, hks wastegate n bov. Someone did a lot of work but still needs tuning.had a vein controller in trunk but won't run at all with It hooked up. Ecm v3 I think. Any suggestions ,comments appreciated, possible hp estimates LOL

If u can get your hands on a AEM stand alone ECM do so it's expensive yes but most of your problems will go away with a good tuner of course. And it plugs straight into the OEM harness so u don't have to re-wire. Good luck man.
p.s. micro-tech is another good option.

I believe the OP said he had the Conquest, then went to Ford V8s and is now in a Talon.

I wouldn't run it hard anymore until you get a tune, last thing you need is to go out for a joy ride, and come back on a Trailer. You could be knocking and don't even know it

OP says he was a ford V8 Guy, I'm sure OP shit his pants once he felt the power after 4k :D
Torque is nice for a second or two, but that continual pull from boost, incredible :)

go with ecm link. sounds like u have a pretty nice setup. id say 400 to 450hp unless it has a built motor and u can turn up the boost. u will need bigger injectors and fuel system mods or methanol for that

Hi guys. Thanks for alot of comments and advice. I still love my car and hate it. After getting some help from few guys here ,suggesting to go back to basics. Which is in newbie section. I apologize for being impatient. Replaced timing belt, oil pump belt. Went to check timing and was estimate 25deg retarded. Adjusted that did boost leak test and found this. Does anyone have a reason or explanation why all this welding is on here or what could have happened. Leaking by throttle body

I'm trying to post pics, says files too big. In case didn't read previous post, I'm 50 yrs old and technically challenged

Gotchya...
Open up microsoft paint brush, after the program is open go to the program tab select open file. Select your picture and it will open in a very large view. There is a little editor option labeled resize click that and make the file at least 50% smaller. I will try to screen shot the steps...

Here is step one, click this tab and select open

Now you can just resize the top horizontal number and the vertical number will automatically change to keep the ration the same. After you've done this click save, and done. You can play with the sizes to see what the biggest size is that this site will allow. For reference I had to resize these at 80% smaller.

I would bet the intake manifold might have been cut open to port it? Maybe not... But it is nearly impossible to damage a stock intake manifold with nothing but boost and power. That is definitely interesting.
Is it leaking at one of the weld spots???

Well I was looking to see if there we're any used performance intakes. More I read they say 1g is good performer. I don't want to add to list of unreliable dsms

Just to drive the dang thing LOL. I was shooting for a 450-500 hp. Street car that I could take to strip few times a yr. I would like to be able to switch as I like to 250-300 and go back to 500 if needed.
