Is there anyone out there besides Mr.Peepers with a true twin scroll HX35 setup? Especially an 8 blade? What does yours spool like?

I built a real twin scroll manifold, and with a 12cm housing I'm not seeing anywhere near the quoted results. The manifold is completely divided, the internal WG is welded shut, there are not boost or exhaust leaks, and I have a 3" turbo back.

Starting at 2k, I see 25psi at about 4100, and 35 psi at 5500.

Mr.Peepers logs are showing 25 at about 3400, on his 7 blade.

That's a 700rpm difference! Is that the 8 blade larger heavier wheel showing up, or is something wring with my setup?

If thats all the better its gonna be, I'm tempted to put my 20cm housing back on to gain some flow back.

Knowing the work you've done in your past with DSM's (yes I actually read and remember people's post's LOL), seems like maybe something is up with your turbo. Post pic's of the manifold maybe? I ASSume the following:

1&4 and 2&3 are together (divided wise) and your using a decently small runner..

From what Ive read, the pipe that the external wastegate hooks to has to be divided internally, from the runners all the way to the wg seat as well, necessitating the use of two pipes and two wastegates- one for 1 and 4, one for 2 and 3, though perhaps the effects of this are negligible

Either of you have twin scroll hx35's? Did you read my post?

The runners are paired right, and its divided all the way to the waist gate. That would in fact make it a true twin scroll. I'm looking for information from people who are using the same setup as peepers and I.

I read your post. And, I ASSumed a couple simple things. No need to get defensive about it. I'm not doubting your work. Are you sure everything is ok with the turbo and wastegates, for sure? I don't have a twin scroll hx35. I do have a twin scroll T4 PTE 6262 though.

Nope, it never wanted to make power for me, so moved on and started running a hy35 on a cast manifold. It blew the t/s hx out of the water for power, and didn't spool that much different.

Damn. I'd hate to invest almost 2k for a t/s setup to not get the results I want. Looking for quick spool and top end power but keeping the hx35. What would u recommend?

I'm going to install a twin scroll hx35 late this fall (prolly november). I'll post here when it's done.

Great I have a hx35 would love to see how it turns out. But already have a punishment o2 housing recirculated it was cheap but want to go full t3 one day.

If I had to make recommendations, Id say run the hx35 in a bep .7 or the holset 12cm housing. I'd suggest a nice short small diameter runner manifold. 1.5" weld els based manifolds are way to big for 95% of us.
I really think that will spool good enough and have pretty killer top end.

If your hell bent on the t/s ID suggest a 14 or 16cm housing and a small diam runner manifold. I think the 1.25" weld els are a good size. I think this was one area that makes Mr peelers attempt better than mine. I have huge 1.75" primary's, not by choice, I allready had them.

What are your expectations? So we can see if it's realistic.

What kind of numbers are you makin on your current setup? I'm thinking about swapping up mine to get into the 9s. I'm running a punishment T3 manifold with a BW 259s and running 10.3-10.5. Thought about just throwing a little shot of gas on it to get me there instead of changing my whole set up.

[QUOTE="bastarddsm, post: 153609479,

I'm looking for quick spool like that of an e316g and enough airflow to make high 400whp or low 500whp. Currently my talon is stripped with no interior and lightweight. Looking for my first 10 second pass.

I had a true twin scroll setup on a 7 blade hx35. Redjack t3 manifold and dual wastegates off the manifold. All supporting mods and all i could get was 30 psi by 5k. This was on a 12cm housing. And that compressor is rated at 56 lbs/min and all I could muster out of it was 51-52 lbs/min.

Idk, if someone wants to enlighten me Im all ears. It was on e85, sd, and afr 12 at wot a little leaner on spoolup. When it spooled, it spooled fast. It jumped from 5psi to 35 in a heartbeat. But at about 5k.

That test is tilted towards the twin scroll due to the manifold design. For a truly fair test, the single scroll should get a single scroll manifold design. And the A/R is unclear, it says it's the same..?

So you think the results would be different if the open setup received the same manifold design as the divided?

They used a twin-scroll manifold for both the twin-scroll housing and single-scroll housing. He's saying they should have used a single-scroll manifold as well with single-scroll housing.

In regurds to @bastarddsm saying 1.5" primaries are too big for 95% I'd have to disagree in a way, this also depends on what material thickness your manifold is. I'll agree 1.75" is way way huge unless your running above a 72mm but most all manifold manifacturers use 1.5" sch pipe weld els, now here is the difference, sch10 has a larger ID than sch40 by a couple mm, so although thicker, the sch40 will have more velocity then it's sch10 counterpart of the same design. A lot of the main shops use sch10 because it is cheaper. But the sch40 manifolds seem to perform much better. Just something to think about.
