I. Have a question in regards to gm iat install. I wired it just like the tech article said to and for some reason my maf was not working and my car would barely run and I eventually got a code for volume airflow circuit malfunction. So I undid the iat and hooked both wires back to maf plug and then my car ran fine. Does the maf still need the black wire hooked to it to function. According to the tech article it says to cut both wires from. Maf plug and not hook them back up. So I am confused why it didn't work

Just curious if someone can give me an answer on this. I've tried to run my car and disconnect one wire at a time for hooking up gm iat sensor. It isn't until I remove the black wire from my maf sensor that the car stumbles. So my question is can I keep the black wire on the maf and just use the red and blue wire for iat and use the other wire for gm pig tail and run that to the battery ground and still log this link as normal?

I assume you are hooking up the IAT sensor to run speed density. Why would you want to run both?

Yes, i have read the ecmlink page. I also plan on hooking up a gm iat very soon. If i remember right, if you pick a moderate temperature day, you can get a "close enough" base tune with just you maf and the IAT sensor "locked" then unhook the maf and proceed tuning with the SD set-up
