been shopping online for parts, mainly for 2gb body parts. found a dealer with a wide range and decent prices and best of all, ships worldwide.

anyone got any experience with CARiD? if they're good I just found my supplier. buying a primered 2gb spoiler on ebay would cost over 1k in shipping costs while they only charge $185, which sounds a bit too good to be true

edit: on a related note, is it better to buy primered or painted?

you will not get what's pictured with carid, I ordered an evo x license plate bracket and the one they sent me looked like they made it out of cardboard.
try miller imports, they might even have one that's the color you need.

CarID is fine. I've bought mostly aftermarket from them. Parts.com, Miller, JNZ, or RC Hill Mitsubishi are usually my top three for OEM parts.
$1k for shipping a spoiler is ridiculous! $185 is more reasonable and closer to normal. It's not the weight usually, it's the size when it comes to the spoilers. Same with the bumpers.
As for primered vs. painted, depends on the price difference. I'd call a few shops and see how much they'd charge to paint it and then factor that in to the cost of the primered one. Unless you're feeling froggy and want to paint it yourself.

Looking at the profile pic and seeing a Euro plate, I'm guessing that shipping on most things would suck. I've never used carid so I can't offer any advice there. I have used Miller import parts and it's been good. I don't know if they do international shipping.

yeah, first of the parts are rare on european ebay and shipping costs from the US are high.

what drew me to carid was that i could order painted and it had low(er) shipping rates, also I could order multiple parts in one shipment (where as ordering off ebay i'd order from different sellers each charging shipping costs)
for now i'm just ordering OEM parts (bumper and spoiler change) but it'd be handy to buy it all in one place and get it all in one shipment.

I'll take another look at Parts.com.

thx for the replies so far

Car id is just a supplier. If you're getting an economy bumper or spoiler from any supplier the quality is no where near OEM. Sure they function the same, but you usually get what you pay for.
Speaking of bumpers, my buddy owns DSM Partout (DSM Part out.com, or find them on Facebook), and when he ships bumpers he rolls them up like a burrito and wraps them. I couldn't believe it until I helped him do it.
I know he ships bumpers internationally, maybe he ships spoilers too.

checked out your buddies site, stock is fairly limited (as i'd suspect from a 2nd hand site), no bumper or spoiler, but it does have one of the few pieces i've had trouble finding so far (2gb front fog lights)

i know these parts aren't going to be as high quality as the original part, which is the main reason i wont be getting rid of my original parts, they're going on storage.

In my experience with eBay body parts (fenders, bumpers, etc) they're OK as a cheap fix but most of the time they take some work to get them to fit nicely. If you care about the car and how it looks I would look elsewhere. If you're just looking for something to get you by for now eBay is the place.
