I have been slowly redoing my engine wiring harness and I have every wire accounted for besides one. I can not seem to figure out what this wire goes to. It comes from the large blue connector under the radio. It is a black wire with white tracer. There are 2 of them the same size and color beside each other and it is the wire to the inside of the connector. (Not the wire at the end of the connector) I do not have a picture of it right now but I will take a picture of it tomorrow and post it up when I can.

Its a 98 eclipse gsx. And heres the pictures,

The first picture is the male connector in the vehicle, the scond is the female that connects to it that came out of the car with the engine harness. I figured with both pictures it would be easier to figure out.

Unfortunately my manual does not show where all wires go. It shows wiring of devices (eg. radio) and which wires connect to them. So you would already have to know which device the wire is for. Maybe if someone has a detailed electrical wiring only manual (if it exists outside of Mitsubishi internal documents).

Factory service manual is very detailed.

I think I have located it, I am about 90% sure it is the coil power. I will be doing more research and tracing every wiring schematic I can find on alldata and mitchell1, and post what I come up with.

the fat (black/white) wire on PIN11 goes to the coil. the small (black/white) wire on PIN12 goes to the A/C compressor.

here is the 97 electrical FSM. If anything in it seems different from what you have in your car, i also have the 98 service manual in print and can post pages from it too.

Ya I have all the factory manuals too including electrical. My point was I haven't seen an electrical manual section that documents what every pin of every harness wire connector goes to all in a table of some sort. Like what the Mitsubishi assembly factory would have. The manual does have the configuration diagrams which help identify what the device connector is but it doesn't list where the wires go to in the main harness to harness connectors like B-63. So for that you'd have to visually scan through all the device pages and hope you come across it. Or post on here hoping someone else will do it or happens to know :).

In any event it looks like dustyboner may be correct, kudos. I would double check with a multimeter (as you're probably already doing) to make absolutely sure since this car has multiple wires with the same colors, not to mention the color fading problem.

I nominate you for a new spreadsheet project.
Ah gosh, gee wizz, let me think about that for a millisec.....WRONG!

For a engine wire harness connector pinout it sounds like the OP has already done it: "I have been slowly redoing my engine wiring harness and I have every wire accounted for besides one." You should nominate him.
