well, i'll just jump into the meat of this story.. My 1g compressor was locked up, but doesn't fit with the cyclone manifold anyway.. SO, being that I had a good 2g unit, I proceeded to install it and it's r-134a lines from the compressor to evaporator and condenser (had to modify the evap hose end and weld a different fitting to the high pressure line)
And I thought I was done ...not so much, still had massive leaks
after testing I found the condenser was bad and beyond repair. Due to a lack of funds, an abundance of tools and a drive to make things I took to fitting the 2g condenser I had which was bought new less than 2 years ago, I cut it's lines off, made one SS braided (Teflon inner material) line for the high pressure setup (welded up custom hose ends for the AC system) then made a line to run across the condenser
Keep in mind that none of the OEM lines were modified or destroyed, I only scavenged parts of thedead condenser and from the old 2g stuff I had, so it can be put back to total stock with merely purchasing a 1g condenser.
well, enough talk, here's some pics... I will add that I puthertogether tonight and the system seems to be solid, it's drawn down to my pumps limits and held rock solid, I'm now backto vacuuming it to try and boil all themoisture out before I put the oil and r134a in tomorrow (after I get a new drier and pull it down for another 45 minutes tomorrow)
