Hey all. So recently i bought a 98 gst spyder...mostly stock (just some ebay bov and a catback). I bought in ohio (doesnt require inspections) and live in pa (which does). I hooked up a scanner and it shows 5 monitors not ready.

Now, i have an evo x and use ecuflash. In it, theres a way to either disable the monitors or force them to say ready. Is there a way to do this thru ecuflash on the dsm?

Ive read that the 99 ecu fixes this...however my.question is then what is different between the 98 and 99 ecus as theyre both flashable?

Also ive seen that 96-98 dsm are on an exempt list for monitors. Ive tried telling.people ive talked to at inspection places about it and they say "theyre not.exempt..you have to.do the drive cycle blah blah".

Really any help is good help

@OP: Did you get this taken care of?

I did a code clearing about a month ago and it's been going through all the drive cycles all over again. The EGR SYS which was ready before the clearing hasn't gone to ready after 300+ miles. If you're interested, there's a TSB with drive cycle descriptions that are different from what is in the FSM. I get the impression though that might be some other proprietary Mitsubishi information for the 4G64 Spyder.

If you are using Evoscan, are you going through the Tactrix cable? I'm thinking of getting Evoscan just as a general purpose monitor and going through bluetooth.

EVOscan is f***ing horrid if you have a 95... just saying. Worst mistake I ever made
