Bought a 1998 Eagle Talon TSi AWD today. 97,000 miles. Automatic. Stock except for gauges one of which doesn't work.

Came with 4 pages of receipts. Dealership took it in as payment from a shop. Listed it at $3550, I picked it up for $2500. Prior salvage title for a broken odometer in 2003 according to Carfax. Hadn't heard of that until now.

There is a lot about this car and what was done by the previous owner(s) that I don't understand. I'm familiar with Honda's and old Ford trucks but I'm new to DSM's. I'm on a forum for both 90-93 Honda Accords and 80-86 Ford trucks. I typically go by the screen name H311RA151N.

Glad to join dsmtuners and hope to meet you great bunch of people. I must thank the forum for the vast amount of information. Quite the compilation of valuable info here.

I'm EXTREMELY jealous !!! Very sweet ride man!

Thanks lasershark. It's not perfect by any means but it's something I can work with fairly easily. Once I learn more about it. My plans are bringing it back to the best condition I can get it not varying much from stock. I plan on preforming all maintenance and using OEM parts to do so. After that a 1G BOV, ECMLink, then boost and wideband gauges on the column. I think I may bring the boost up to about 13 or 14psi after it's said and done. The gauge that's in it now is indicating 10psi and sometimes 11.

1990TSIAWDTALON, thank you. I feel pretty lucky to have it!

Rich94, I think so too. I was pretty surprised to have found it.

Black95TSIawd, Thank you, I appreciate it. I hope luck is on my side as I really like it. It's different from anything I've ever owned in many ways but it's among the coolest cars I've ever owned for sure. Might just be the coolest. We'll see.

Wow, I was unaware of that fact. I'm super stoked about it though! You just helped me greatly by the way. With that link I found out a lot about this car. It's Absit's old car. This may help me track down several small problems it has by searching his old threads. I can't thank you enough jsmcpn... seriously. I love this forum already and I've only been here a little over 24 hours.

My vin is 4E3AL54F2WE045128. Number 2085 in that spreadsheet.

Wow great looking Talon!! Congrats and welcome! I am pretty new here too. :thumb:

Thanks everyone! Still own the Talon. Still driving it although not much. All is well with it just driving other vehicles primarily. Only at 98k on the Talon and wanting to stay under 100k for as long as I can. ROFL

Sweet ride, man! I haven't seen one in that color in such good shape.

No way!!! I actually got to take a look at this TSI before it was available for sale, extremely clean engine bay and solid strut towers. honestly I couldn't believe the previous owner didn't come pick it up LOL.

I literately thought I was the only 2G DSM around Iowa City area, we should meet up sometime.

I was surprised myself. I like it quite a bit and it's been a good car thus far.

I've only seen one other 2G and ironically enough it was on Scott Blvd near sinclair the day I bought the car and was on my way home right after leaving Deery.

Thanks!

If it was red then it was probably me, I recently sold my second red 2g GST so you might run into two red ones running around town.

Still have it. It's in Branson Missouri in my father's shop. Haven't done much with it other than drive it to Missouri from Iowa. Still in tact and driveable. No plans for it in the near future. And definitely not selling it. Just saving it until I can dedicate 6 months or so to it to get it back 100% to the way it should be.
