Cool I'm sure I'll find it I've made new and met a lot of people there it's always a blast my dsm won't be there but close next year shell be there still can't wait.

Update! So yesterday, a local that's very good with wiring came over and redid some wiring I had done for the gauges, and checked the obd2 port connections. It took him over and hour but he finally realize there must be a loose connecting by the port and made it so the wire had a solid connection. I plugged in link and it connected! After that, I had to switch the displacement and prime the fuel pump. After that, I jumped right in and turned the key and she started right up. No leaks or anything. I was pretty shocked about that. Then it was time to take her for a little spin. The car wouldn't go into gear, and I noticed the pedal was extremely soft for a 2600 clutch. Softer than stock and it was having a little problem coming back up. I'll be bleeding it more today, and hopefully that fixes the problem! She sounds awesome and I can't wait to drive her.

I spent many hours trying to bleed my clutch line the other day to realize my brand new slave was bad. So I put another slave on, bled the clutch and still couldn't get it into gear. Tried messing with the clutch adjustment and no matter how far in or out I went I couldn't find that sweet spot. I have a new master coming and also an extended slave rod. Now I know this is a bandaid fix but I'm only doing this to see if this will determine if I have to drop the tranny again and shim the ball. I really hope I don't and everything works great with the new master. Goal is for Betty to be race ready for the shootout. Let's hope she is.

TODAY was a big day. I pulled the old master out and just look at the difference.

I swapped it out and bled the system and she went right into gear.

Now for the bad news. She started making a metal on metal noise coming from the passenger wheel well. I'll be taking the wheel off tomorrow and hopefully diagnose the problem.

Here's a picture proving she moved :)

Long update here, along with a recap of my shootout weekend. So I came home a day after work and tried to figure out the noise Betty was making. I took the car down the road and back, which wasn't even a mile, and the noise was still there and figured it was coming from the breaks. I pulled in and came to the front of the car and noticed fluid boiling out from I between the exhaust manifold and the head. Checked the oil and it was milky. Very beaten and broken I refused to give up and refused not to have this car at the shootout. I called Miller imports and bought a stock motor and had them shipped it to my house. Started taking the car apart and had the motor and trans out in two days with the help of my girlfriend and very good friend. Took another two to three days for the motor to show up. Showed up on Thursday and my girlfriend and I swapped all the parts I needed onto it, along with the transmission. The next day both my friend and girlfriend helped me drop the motor in and other major parts to install the motor. The next day we spent the rest of the day buttoning up the the car and it became time to switch it back to a 2.0 in dsm link... And it wouldn't connect. So we called it a night because we all had autocross in the morning. I drove my girlfriends 3.8 Genesis coupe and I had a blast. Rained the first half of the event and dried up by the second set of runs. The next day I put my black box back in and borrowed a locals 450cc just to get it started and going. Everything was good. Started going down the road and the breaks overheated and wouldn't let loose. Had to crack the bleeder to let pressure out. Took it down the road and the car seemed fine. Parked it and decided to come back and finish the little things the next day. The next day comes and take the car down the road again and it does the same thing. I said screw it and swapped out the master cylinder and never had another problem. Then I took my new wheel and tire setup to get mounted and then over to a buddy's house to detail her really quick because I had to leave the next day for the shootout.

After getting detailed it was off to bed. Woke up at 5:30 to leave the house by 6. My buddy Justin, who helped me with the engine swap, met me with his 96 talon to drive out to our buddy's house 2 hours away. Got to our friend Aaron's house to help him work on his car that he had to put the finishing touches on his car he build in 60 days from almost a bare shell. We work most of the day on his car but I grabbed his computer and put my 95 ecu back in Betty just to see if his computer worked, and it did. I swapped the injectors back to my 850's and put my new tires on. She looks great and runs great.

I started driving down the road to test the new beastly brakes and tires and holy crap both are awesome. Later that night we went to move my car so Aaron could take his down the road. Betty started and one second later she lost all power and died. Figured out a battery wire came loose and tighted it. Started right back up So I took it down the road. Next thing I know the battery and ebrake light are on but very dim. I knew it was the alternator. I said screw it and went to bed. Knowing the shootout was in the morning, I got up at 7 and started tearing out the alternator and swapped it for one Aaron had laying around. We had a few more things to do to Aaron and Justin's cars so it took us another hour or so to leave. Took our cars to get washed and then headed out.

When we got there and it was a relief. I put a lot of hard work into her this past year and she almost didn't make it, but she did. Felt great rolling in with the two of them.

Finally parked Betty and a lot of people came up and started asking questions about her. Checked out some awesome rides there and then it started to fade out soon after that. We hung out for a bit so we weren't standing in line at the gate and just enjoyed and thought about what we did and what the past year has put us through.

Finally got to the track and we parked the cars for the night and just watched the cars run till 10. We road back in Justin's talon to Aaron's house because Justin got called back into work for the next morning.

In the morning, Aaron and I grabbed his truck and picked up a trailer and headed out. Got to the track around 9 and Autox started at 10. We prepped the cars and headed over. On my first run, the oil filter housing rattled loose because the motor has the BSE kit apparently. I spilled 4 quarts of oil on the course but lucky I shut it off in time to save the motor. That wasn't the case for the turbo tho. This ruined Autox for me so I focused on Aaron finishing and competing well. He did very well for what he had and finished 2nd in the event.

After the event we towed and jacked up Betty to get a good look at the damage. Lucky it was a simple fix and we filled the car back up with oil and decided to pack it up for the day because a storm was coming in. After the storm we loaded Aaron's car on the trailer and decided I'll drive Betty back to see if there were gonna be problems for my trip home the next day. We stopped about half way so I could get gas and the car started surging really bad. Fuel trims were off and decided to boost leak test the car before the drive home. Turns out the BSE kit rattled the ICS bolts loose. One was gone and one was about to fall out so that explained the idle problem. The next day we went back to the track and just enjoyed walking around. We ended up leaving around 5 because I had to work in the morning and we still planned on having dinner before I left for home. Left Aaron's house around 7 and noticed about a half hour into the trip, during a construction zone, that light smoke was coming from under the hood. Figured it was still some oil burning off and I would stop at the next rest stop only a few miles up the road to check everything out. Turns out I was leaking a tiny bit of oil again but couldn't tell from where. My guess was around the turbo drain. Oil levels where still good so I kept going. About 30 minutes from home it just started down pouring. Couldn't see anything as my wiper blades decided they wanted to fall apart at this point. I pulled over two more times just because it was so bad. Normal 2 hour drive took me close to 3 but she made it back in mostly one piece. All in all I was happy with the weekend. Betty made it to the shootout and back and Aaron placed. Couldn't have asked for much more for the situations we faced.

Did a quick photo shoot with Betty and my girlfriends car. Photo's were taken by Casey Rand.

I love your car man. There will be ups and downs but keep at it. Enjoy that black beauty.

You can say that again and thank you.

I rebuilt the turbo and put it back on. No apparent leaks so I took it for a spin and everything was great. Got home and smoke was coming from the down pipe area so I have to look at it again to track down this leak

Had my first region event of the year in Betty on Sunday. All in all I want to say it was a good event. It was a fast course compared to what my region has ran this year so far. We had 4 runs in both session and I started the day off running a low 48 and worked my way down to a 46.5 on my last run of the morning runs. The afternoon runs I ran two 46.5 back to back, a 45.7, and then finally a 45.5. I was pretty happy with that because I haven't had one full run in Betty for about 16-17 months. Over all 2nd fasted raw time in my class and had 3rd place beat by .5 seconds. Now because of PAX and how our region groups different classes together because it's usually a smaller region, I finished 7th out of 8. A little disappointing but, like I said, it was my first race in a year and a half in the eclipse. We have one more event this upcoming Sunday. Hopefully by then I can put my cam setup in, headstuds, turn the boost up a little higher and POSSIBLY be on e85. It's supposed to rain all this week here so it might not be possible.

Well I got home from work and had some time so I started tearing down my stroker motor down. Took the cams and headstuds out for the current motor andhead studs. Pulled the head and found this. Not sure if it's a faulty head gasket or if this is from then copper spray I used for the motor.

What are your plans for the stroker motor? Just a quick rebuild and have a spare motor.

What I would love to do with it is take it to a shop and have them OK the quality of the build. This was my first motor I built but someone that knows what they are doing, checking things over, would be one less thing to worry about. Was thinking about sending it to boosten or take a drive up to STM to drop it off. I talked to boosten at the shootout after the oil filter came loose and got a quote and didn't think it was bad at all. After that, I'd drop it in and sell the stock 2.0.

STM is great but i think they have Buschur build their motors right? Might as well just start there.

If I have to buy a motor any time soon. I'm going for a Boostin STG3 2.0 long rod. He has proven that him and his company know how to build motors that handle power. You sticking with a 2.3 for autox?

I did not know bushur built stms engines. That actually might work out if bushurs price is good because I have a job interview in Akron Ohio next Friday. If I moved out there he would be about an hour away. I'm sticking with the 2.3 for Autox and for a very fun street car. I was never about how fast my car was compared to others. All I want is for car to put a smile on my face and with the turbo, cams, e85 and a 2.3, I think it's gonna be a blast.

How could that car NOT put a smile on your face?? Very nicely done!!

So I spent the last two nights after work putting in my headstuds and my hks 264/272 that were in the stroker motor. It took me so long because the sun is falling sooner and it was raining out. I couldn't use the garage so I had to work on it in between showers. It took awhile but everything's in and working great. Took it for a spin and noticed I was getting more knock so I turned the boost down and it was still happening. It happens in between 5-6k usually but it was spuratic sometimes. I got back to the house and noticed my exhaust making a noise like it was hitting a part of the underbody somewhere. Hopefully it's just that and picking up fantom knock. If it's not raining again tonight, I'll climb under and see what's going on.
