What are good street tires for and awd? I'm guessing you don't want them to sticky or something will break?
I was looking at hankook ventus v12, nitro nt555 g2, nt05, falken azenis ft-615k
Anything else that's good for a 2g awd
Thanks

You will get a million oponions. Best for what? Ive worn goodyear, bfgoodrich, yokohama, nitto, fuzion, dulop falken, etc.....
I took this view with my latest set. What do oem high performance cars wear? The two best performing tires ive ever had were yokohama avs intermediate (old school porsche 911 oem) and my current michelin pilot super sport.

Although the Treadwear rating is low, I put a set of Nitro Nt05's on my gsx that flows 40lbs/min and they tires hook like no other street tire I've had on launches. 5250rpm launches on the street and no spinning.

There is no budget. Just some nice street tires to mess around on and for the drag some days

Kuhmo's new(er) v720's seem to be alright. What size wheel do you have? Do you want something to use year round? (all season) something that NEEDS to work in the snow? Wet weather driving? Summer only?

The BEST tire, is the cheapest tire that suits all your needs. Unless you have money to blow, then any tire that meets your needs IS usually the most expensive one LOL..

No the car is more of a weekend car and only in the summer.
I was looking at the Michelin pilot super sports. Just want a good tire that's good for awd. I just don't know if the Bridgestone re71r, falken azenis rt615k, nitto nt555 or nt05. These are extreme summer tires and don't know if they are to stick for a Gsx. Thanks

Dunlop Direzza DZ102's are a solid summer tire. They're great in the rain too. I've had terrible experience with Pilot Super Sports at autocross, I'd take the Bridgestones over them any day.

I wish there was a way we could test drive tires, everyone seems to like something else.

I can't speak from experience with a DSM, as I've not owned one for very long, but I ran the Ventus V12s on my 350z and they were amazing in the summer. Beware if you live in a state where it snows or gets cold, though, because those tires SUCK when they're cold. They also seemed a bit noisy for me.

After those, my next favorite would be the Nitto nt555's. But as 90laserRSfwd said, your favorite is going to be the cheapest tire that does what you want it to do.

I'm running 18x8 motegi traklites wheels. I will have Megan racing coilovers. I'm leaning towards the Michelin pilot super sports after reading some reviews they seem good. I'll be running 225/40/18 size tires

Loads of opinions and I'll give you mine. If your looking in the extreme summer tire then have a look at the kuhmo v720, bfg rival s, Bridgestone re71r, Dunlop z2. Overall each is a good choice. Some of these are not the best at the drag strip due to the stiff sidewalls.

I currently run the re71r on my street class miata in autocross. Very grippy but wear can be an issue. I am going to solo nationals and it's the tire to have. I've also looked into the kuhmo v720. They had a issue with delamination but they fixed it by having everyone lower the air pressures. Pilot super sports are also a great tire. Drove those on a E46 m3 and been on a c5 z06. So since my last trip to the drag strip was 2009 as I kinda felt bored with it I have gone to the corners. If your lookiung for grip and pick either the pilot super sports or one of the 200tw from above.

The falkin 615 is an ok choice but is very old tech compared to the newer batch of tires. The same goes for the nitto Nt05 which I gave a huge thumbs down to as wear and stickyness were way off pace on the corvette. The pilot sports have surpassed them in every way. There is also the maxxis vr1 and nexen just put out their new 200tw. The maxxis has been rated well and will be going on our lemons coronet next year. Not herd anything about the nexen other than they have great payout at nationals.

So that is my basic info. Being in autocross for the last 5 years I have drove every 200tw tires minus a few of the new ones. If you have any questions just ask away.

Love my hankooks! ;) I'm rockin the new ventus v12's ver2. They are so much stickier than the first version. And are supposed to last longer. Made my gvr4 so much better autoxing, and on our super fun back roads LOL. Really good tire and you can't beat the price. I got mine off amazon with free shipping and found a $100 rebate haha. ;)
