I decided to take my talon to the dyno as a birthday present to me. I went to the track last month and was able to get a 12.058 @ 117.5 mph. I think I should be able to hit mid 11's with more practice. I'm going to try using NLTS next time. I dyno'd on a Dynocom AWD Dyno (shop page here: http://uppturbo.com/dyno-tuning/). The car was street tuned by Steve up in Denver (biglady112). Great guy and super helpful. Log of the third run is attached for the curious.

Here's the dyno run. Boost level hit 28 and leveled down to 24 by redline. I bought one of Justin's holset actuators hoping to hold boost to redline, but I think the turbo just can't keep up with the motor.

You can see these numbers are pretty high, especially with the numbers I'm trapping in the quarter. I'm assuming they're using the standard equation for correction factor. I guess it's good I went on the dyno after going to the track. I might have been disappointed with my trap speed. I'm not complaining though. I really wanted to see the power curve. I added a degree of timing up top on the last run to get the extra 7hp.

And just because we all like em, here are a couple pictures.

And here's my 12.05 run. You can see how the boost drops after every shift looking at my boost gauge in the middle. I think I can net 11's if I can nail down a good launch and keep my foot on the gas between shifts.

My next plan is all cosmetics. Reupholster my leather seats, get new carpet, and give it a good cleaning. I'm moving to the Pacific for a few years, so she'll be going to sleep until I come back with an R33!

Cheers,
Chad

Good job! I agree the numbers seem oddly high (especially for an AWD 16g setup at 28 lbs). Still an 11 second 16g car is badass!! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! My launch is set to 5250. I shift around 7k because I want to stay in the range where the powerband is. I can tell how much slower the car is up top.

That is awesome! even though the numbers do seem quite high it gives me some hope I'll be able to crack 350whp on my 16g at 25psi! But i'll be on pump gas :(

If you take those correction factors and do math you will end up with around 350-375hp uncorrected. And using all the horsepower and et calculators depending on your weight with you in the car puts you right in that midto upper 300hp rabge. Very respectable for our altitude. That car has the potential to go mid 11's as is at a lower altitude track even being a heavy pig. So it is running very well. You should be pretty happy to have run what you have.

Have you made any changes or adjustments since we messed with it?

Oh I'm not complaining at all about where it stands. My goal was 350-375hp so I'm done for now with performance upgrades. I just want to enjoy it on the track.

I just bumped up a degree of timing to see what it'd do, but afterwards I put it back down. I didn't change anything else. I plan on installing the flex fuel sensor for when I bring it back down to Florida next month and E85 isn't as available as it is here.

I'm going to shoot for a mid/high 11 second run in a couple weeks.

Wow those are some really high numbers but nice runs none the less. I made 360whp at 27lb on e85 and that thing was maxed out. This was on a dynopack

Guessing your WBO2 still needs to be calibrated? It's reading around 20:1 in the log?

I agree with the general consensus; you're probably right at 350-370 based on the airflow in the log. Those are good numbers at altitude.

And those wheels and the car overall looks great!

What's your car weigh? Guessing it's probably 60-70hp optimistic but still good stuff.

No, they removed it to put their Innovate wide and in for the dyno run. Instead of clamping it to the exhaust pipe. And thanks! Maybe down the road I'll upgrade turbos but til then I have an interior to redo.

I wish I knew. It's a full interior car though. I'll have it weighed soon. And thanks!

Reminds me of my gst's 16g setup :) great job bro looking good! Nlts will be your best friend bro. Just that alone added to you run will get you 11's when done right. Remember keep the gas peddle down haha. ;)

Thanks man. I'll try out NLTS soon and see what times I can get. I plan on taking this out on the road courses this/next month too.

Likewise, My UN was made in 07, I have an AWD Laser now. Still great numbers on a 16g! Any plans to go back to the track and try to hit that 11 second pass? Did you get a chance to weigh the car?
