Just got a 99 eclipse gsx and Im looking to make a tiny bit more power. It already pulls very good but I want a tiny bit more.

To start off Im just fixing everything i can think of. (Only have a leak left to fix.) Next im going to replace some of the rusted out parts around the axle and put rust preventer everywhere.

The car is very clean but I want to make a tiny bit ammoubt of power and i want to spend about 1500 over the course of a year. And I also want to lose weight, but still keep the comfort of a daily car.

I was thinking of getting lighter seats and a carbon fiber trunk and maybe hood. (I know this would be pricey)

1500 will go alot further on ECMLINK,wideband, bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. You will get way more out of the car than the aesthetic upgrades you want or were looking at.While keeping all the comforts of a daily driver.

Nice. Would i need a new ecu with the bigger turbo? And how much pounds of boost do you think the stock engine can candle(and not break every couple weeks LOL)
And what would i need for a bigger turbo? I had a gerret 16 in mind just because ive seen a lot of success with stock eclipses

I think you mean 16G and yes it is extremely successful with DSM's. I would go for that, injectors, dsmlink, BOV, exhaust, and maybe some hard piping. E85 is a huge benefit if you can get your hands on it easily. I would also look into some specialty shops or someone that knows DSM's to help you with tuning or dyno tuning. Get all the maintenance done first.

Depending on how much you're going to run, I'd look into some ARP headstuds as well.

The suggestions above are all valid but your biggest hurdle will be knowledge. Given your post, and dont take this the wrong way, you lack alot of basic knowledge. Jump in too hard too soon and its easy to fail or break something. Are you a seasoned mechanic? Do you know the health of the trans, clutch, rear end, suspension, transfer case etc. Keep in mind the newest turbo car is a mininum 17 years old now. More power reveals parts that aren't up to the task. Plan for this. If you cant work on it yourself plan for that expense. If you dont have money for that....well you may have to sit tight for awhile. I would not just go buy the next item on your list without consideration for the health of the entire car

No offense taken. Im learning now but I have a mechanic who is teaching me. Were getting the car as healthy as possible right now before we even think of doing any upgrades. So when I start doing upgrades within a year we wull make sure it isnt something that the car csnt handle.
Im also not looking to make a lot more power. Just a small but noticeable difference.

Read through this as it will guide you in the right steps.http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/2g-dsm-upgrade-paths.486217/"
If you don't know when the last time the timing components were changed, do it. Use oem components. As far as power a 16g with ecmlink and supporting mods can make a moderate 350ish hp on e85 and perhaps racefuel.
