I have been trying to get this car to run right for about 2 weeks. The car will rev up to about 3000 rpm and when it gets to 3k the car loses power. As in the gauges shut off the realy mounted under the radio pops off and then comes back online a second later.

Anyways the harness has been hacked up and I've been going through it since I got it. Got to the ecu and the o2 sensor sensor wire looks like this (see pic)

I'd like to just redue the wiring is there a way I can do this that gives me piece of mind that this isn't the issue or a contributing issue

getting a car with a butchered harness is a can of worms. i suggest going to your local pick and pull, and or someone on here parting out a car and getting a whole new harness. if you feel like taking on the task look up the ecu pin out on google for you year make and model and go from there.

^ negative.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with a multimeter.
This can allow you to pin point any shorts, ect in your circuits.
You can't throw money at something and hope for it to work.

It's going to be difficult to get any help with out digging further on your end.

I wish you well. But if you hang on in there; this can be a great learning experience.

I know how to use a multimeter. And I've looked at the pin out the major issue is I can't find any good pictures of what the harness is ment to look like under the looming. Like all the extra wires attached to the o2 sesnor.

Would a data logger be a good idea to try and figure out what's going on

I tried reading the codes with the shirty anaglog multimeter I have but I need to barrow a nice one from work.

The picture in the first post looks like the factory grounding for the shields (braided wire) and grounds from the O2. It's ugly but that how the factory did it and then wrapped the connections with tape.
