Just buyed a DSM yesterday. It have already an exhaust system. I'm thinking in upgrading the cams, cams gear, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator injectors and couple of more psi of boost hoping to get 350hp. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

We have a 99 GST Eclipse. Just want to say we are running a stock head setup with stock cams, gears, lifters, etc. We did stud the head to anchor it better for adding more boost and instead of changing cams we bought an oversized 16g turbo. There's a full turbo kit on ebay for roughly $180 and the seller is CXRacing (or cxmotorsports). We have 550cc injectors and a high flow fuel pump. The previous owner installed a BBK throttle body. We have a few more mods, but this is a easy start without tearing into motor or head assembly. If I had to guess I'd say the car is pushing about 400hp but not 100% sure, haven't dynoed it yet

How many PSI of boost are you running? Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? If yes at how many fuel psi are you running.

Thanks for your comment it give a good path to start. Based on you comment It seems like 350 is achievable.

We are currently only running 16psi and will probably go up to 24 when motor and trans are finished getting broke in. We do have a regulator but it's been a few months since the car has ran, I've slept a little and don't remember exactly what it's set at. Antman is currently putting the trans back in the car as we speak. When it fires up I'll let you know about the fuel regulator.

I'm going to install a fuel pump and the fuel regulator but I want to know what is the stock pressure and at what pressure I should set it up to.

Do you think that 550cc injectors are big enough or should I go with 750.

I dont have to much experience, I'm just reading a lot here.

I'd ditch the ebay turbo setup and get a quality MHI turbo, do it right or do it twice.

Set base fuel to 43.5 with the motor off or vacuum line disconnected while it is running (assuming you currently have an adjustable FPR). Get all maintenance done such as timing belt and all associated components...use OEM parts there for sure. Hoses, plugs, wires, belts etc before you go modding or you are heading down the wrong path in the beginning. Do the basic tune up stuff and fix any leaks you may have. Bigger injectors/turbo will mean you need a way to tune for them. Just friendly tips. Welcome with your new DSM!

Thanks for the advice. I already ordered the timing belt (gates).

Yes I have to change all hoses because I was cruising and one hose from the intercooler pipping blew up so I expected that all the hoses are in the same condition.

I will let you guys know about the progress and will be uploading more pics.

It's already been posted here but I said I would let you know when we fired up the car, fuel regulator is set at 44 and a 43.5 was stated in a previous post. Good luck!

I would reccomend reading other people mod profiles and street builds to see what mods it took to get them to that hp safe I learned the hard way just throwing mods at it won't always get the hp u want it's like a puzzle you have to have every pice! Good luck with the car
