Hey, so my 98 gst keeps giving me issue after issue. Today's issue is it bogs. It starts fine and idles. When I go to give gas it will bog some then stops when I get going until I get alittle higher in rpms. Then it will bog again can't build boost correctly. If I give it alot of gas it will show boost building but it's all boggy like no power at all. I figured boost leak but can't find one anywhere. Basically drives fine while at low rpms besides 1st gear it bogs alittle when I first give gas. I'd appreciate any input.

It sounds to me like a boost leak, at least that is the most likely culprit. I just fixed a couple leaks around my car too that was causing the same thing. Did you do an actual test with a boost leak tester and a compressor or did you eyeball the turbo, intercooler and piping?

I checked and checked again can't find a boost leak. It's idling fine when I give little gas it stutters and then goes. I drove it when I hit 5psi it starts to flutter while still building boost but I don't feel any power. It stops when I let off the gas and will drive fine until I hot around 5 psi. Feels like a boost leak but not sure where it's at if that's the issue.

how old is your 02 sensor that can give you a bog . if your car runs good at full throttle but not at part throttle then i would change your 02

Do a boost leak test with compressed air, and if you have ecmlink, you can see if your o2 is cycling when logging, [mine was bad and I spotted it via ecmlink, so I replaced it when I rebuilt my 14b turbo with a denso unit from ebay, a whole lot better now]

When doing the boost leak test listen for any obvious air leaks, I like to check with soapy water, around, the j pipe, compressor cover, all inter-cooler piping, the inter-cooler itself, throttle body biss screw, throttle body plate seals, Isc o'ring seal, injector seals, [although not boost leak related: you should also check the injector rail o'rings for damage and or leaks too while your at it might be worth it to clean the injectors out using 1 or 2 AA batteries to cycle them while spraying cleaner through them] also check all emissions lines or hoses that come off the intake when boost leak testing.

Some other ideas for you, clean any carbon off the isc, and its port on the throttle-body as well, clean any deposits or carbon traces off of the throttle-body, check your spark plugs, wires, and coil pack, if you have a cas or cam and crank angle sensor inspect it check your.

We had a problem with our tps sensor that would cause the same thing. Car was basically running on fail-safe, while it was idling the sensor would read 0% then you would have to move the throttle over 30% but tps sensor would read 100%. There was nothing in the middle range. Replaced tps sensor & it cleared up, plus went from 9mpg to 22 mpg
