This write up only is for 2G DSM and is only for the 4 Pot 1ST Gen FRONT 3KGT VR4 calipers
do at your own risk!
Parts needed:
4 pot front calipers from as 1st gen 3KGT VR4 (90'-93) + pads of choice
Rotors from a mustang Cobra (13") plus hub centering rings for the rotor
Adapter bracket kit from LovinBoost
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/brembo-brackets-gaskets-flanges-custom-fab.479308/
Angle grinder or dremel
and finally you need just a bit of common sense
now lets get started
To Start I'm assuming you already know how to remove your front calipers and rotors, if you don't then this conversion might be a bit too difficult for you. For those still with me lets continue
So after you have removed your stock calipers and rotors you should be looking at this minus the bracket I have in the picture
(picture 1)
now bolt on the bracket like pictured
I recommend you test fit the calipers without the rotors 1st so you can be sure you don't have any clearance issues, and so you can trim the shield so follow these step but leave the rotor off for the 1st side you do, then the other side will be easier
picture two
you can see how I trimmed the dust shield I actually had the 13" cobra brakes on before these so mine was already trimmed back enough
picture three
in the kit from LovinBoost you will find four thin spacers.
picture four
these go on the outside (the side facing you) of the caliper
picture five
slip two of the longer bolts through the caliper mounting ears and slip on the spacers like pictured and bolt the caliper onto the bracket
picture six
make sure this is how yours looks no bolts should be touching the rotors and the spacer should be between the caliper and bracket.
picture seven and eight
now you can test fit your wheels, I am running Gramlight 57c's these calipers do stick out past the hub a lot so you will need some wheels with decent clearance for this setup, you can see even with these wheels i only have a couple of millimeters of clearance left
once the wheel is mounted make sure it spins freely if so your good to go
the stock DSM brake lines do fit, but if you haven't upgraded to SS braided already now would be a good time also if you stick with the banjo style line you can actually use the banjo bolt from an Evo 8 or 9 rear caliper otherwise you can order the correct lines from RTM
also I recommend speed bleeders which make bleeding the brakes a 1 man job. so bleed the calipers till you have firm pedal pressure.
once the wheel is mounted make sure it spins freely if so your good to go
