As much I don't wanna ask cause I have a feeling I'm gonna get bad news but this is my problem.

I went to store other day, came back out car was not running anymore. Started right back up fine. Well today I pulled in to the store with foot on clutch i was sitting still an it shuts off. Again started right back up no problem. Well on way home on back road i got on it little and well it shut off an made like a rattle sound.

Pulled off on side of road went to start back up an it just clicked, well turn off radio and it started back up. (Reason I turn radio off is I just installed a stereo system though it was to much on alternator).

After getting it back to house started looking under for any could see any problems, well I reved it up some. Then at little hi Rev I could hear rattle sound an didn't sound to good.

The car has had a tick an was told it was lifter tick. The oil pressure runs 10 -15 psi idle 40 or so driving. Guy got it from said oil pressure was ok for its age an he ran 15w 20 oil.

It's a 95 eagle talon tsi

If you are concerned about the bottom end, perhaps an inspection is in order. You may want to drain and inspect the oil. If it were me, I would probably remove the oil pan for inspection as well.

Agreed.

Also, imho 15w20 is a bit thin for a std weight. 10w30 or 10w40 would be the minimum I'd run in it, for higher miles.

You could look at the crank sensor, it may be oil fouled in the connector or sensor itself. Your rattle, we'd need more info to help with that.

Do like 2gmitsueclipse said and inspect everything you can.

If your still not quite sure you could always pay for an oil analysis. Amsoil sells them for $34.00 with pre-paid postage, parts stores may have them as well. Different levels of elements can indicate significant engine wear/damage.

Sounded like rattle came from bk side. It was bout half quart mow oil so I top it off. It not doing it today when was looking In to it which it lot warmer today than yesterday if that might had somthing do wit it or not. Also notice my wide ban been showing some weird readings compare to week ago. If I had got bad gas would that cause any issues like this. The car also runs gm maf

Hard to say really without hearing the noise. Bad gas will cause car to ping, knock and rattle in some instances. An oil analysis isn't a bad way to go. Will let you know what all is in the oil like coolant, minerals, bearing or metal particles etc. and condition it's in. $34 for an oil diagnostic is a hell of a deal!

Could also be a bad ground

Have you checked battery terminal connections? Car will run without an alt. for a little while if the battery is good. So, check your main grounds and stereo wires you connected or disconnected aren't loose or touching something it shouldn't

Yea none this started till after the stereo install. I have a vid of just the motor running with the sound I was told was lifter sound but don't know how to upload it

I had a bad alt and at idle when the fans kicked on it dropped rpm low enough for the car to stall, and that was with my stereo system in. Just for the stalling not for the noise though..

I guess it's stock motor it's 7 bolt. Engine lights on but it's reading for evap. It's got bolt on's but other that it's stock

Would bad axel make sound like that

K well it not axel then. I was told to pull n push in on crank pulley see if I had Any play. N there no play at all

Sounds like if u throw say a bolt in a fan hitting back n forth. Then when u gey straight it does for little bit then it stomps n u don't hear it any more.

Ok so in the process of dropping oil pan to lookin there I noticed. The back side of flywheel has some chew marks. What would cause this. It's the motor side of flywheel not clutch side

I hate to throw the C word around, but you need to check your end play with a gauge and see if it has started to crankwalk.

If the crank trigger is moving out of range of the sensor, it will cause it to die.

It may just be coincidence that it happened after the stereo.
